POST-BARIATRIC BODY CONTOURING
Post-bariatric body contouring is a collection of procedures performed after weight-loss surgery that resculpt the body to achieve a physique the patient desires.
YOU CAN ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM PHYSIQUE
You deserve congratulations. Losing a significant amount of weight comes with immense benefits. Major health risks including heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer significantly decrease. Life expectancy increases. Quality of life improves. And you probably feel more confident and self-assured.
However, weight-loss surgery can leave behind remnants such as excess skin and unwanted pockets of fat. These troublesome issues tend to resist diet and exercise which makes them difficult to correct through sweat and effort alone. Body contouring procedures after bariatric surgery can help you achieve the fit physique you envisage for yourself.

Grant Hamlet MD, the founder of the Hamlet Clinic, provides a full suite of body contouring procedures designed to help post-bariatric surgery patients sculpt the figure of their dreams.

IDEAL CANDIDATES
Ideal candidates have undergone bariatric weight loss surgery and reached several milestones. They’ve reached a stable body weight. Maintaining satisfactory body weight is important before undergoing body sculpting procedures to achieve long-lasting beneficial results. It’s important to be committed to living a healthy lifestyle. Aesthetic procedures are not a replacement for a lifestyle that nourishes your body and mind. Instead, cosmetic procedures are a supplement to help you thrive. You should also not smoke. Smoking brings with it many unwanted risks and complications and those risks are heightened when undergoing surgical procedures. Do your body a favour and please do not smoke.

BENEFITS
There are many advantages to a body lift surgery, the primary one is the transformational effects it will have on your body.
Whether you have undergone massive weight loss or want to reduce droopy skin, this procedure will provide impressive results! A body lift will leave your skin smoother, taut, and your features lifted. Regain a younger, perkier body after a body lift surgery!

This surgery has many mental benefits alongside the physical benefits. Removing excess skin flaps will make fitting into clothes easier and boost your confidence. Feel good about your body and confident in your dramatic results!

CANDIDATES
Ideal candidates for this procedure are healthy men and women who have a surplus of loose skin. Adults who have health conditions that hinder their healing process should look into alternative solutions to reduce their excess skin. Perform research on what it means to undergo a body lift procedure so you can have realistic expectations for what the surgery can achieve.
PREPARATION
There are a few steps you will need to take to ensure a healthy surgery and recovery.
The best way to start preparing for surgery is by picking up prescribed medications well in advance of your appointment. Arrange for rides to and from the surgery and ask someone to stay with you for the first twenty-four hours of your recovery.

As the surgery date gets closer, choose a recovery area of your home that will be free of disturbance. This area is often a bedroom but should be somewhere you can relax and be stress-free. This area should have lots of pillows, your medications, and entertainment.

Twelve hours before your surgery, you will need to fast and get a good night’s rest. The morning of your appointment, dress in comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that will not be tight on treated areas.

BODY LIFT PROCEDURE
The surgery will take a few hours, and once completed drains will be placed and incisions closed and bandaged.
When you arrive at your surgery, you will be asked to change into a gown. Once changed, your treatment areas will be cleaned and incision sites marked. Your pre-determined anesthesia and sedation will be administered and, once you are resting, the surgery will begin. The surgical team will assist your cosmetic surgeon as they apply incisions. Skin will be reduced and liposuction may be used to reduce excess fat deposits. The surgical team’s movements will be strategic and deliberate to provide attractive contours. Together, they will work to give you your best results.

RECOVERY AFTER SURGERY
When your surgery is completed, you will be monitored as you wake up from the sedation. You may need to be monitored for a while to ensure you are doing well. Once you are deemed healthy, your friend will be able to drive you back home to complete your recovery there.

As the anesthesia wears off, your incision sites may be swollen and sore. Medication will help reduce discomfort and help you rest. You may need to adjust your sleeping position so you don’t apply pressure to incisions.

Many patients take seven to ten days off from work as they heal. This timeframe will fluctuate based on the extent of your procedure, your health, and the activity level of your job. Any drains and stitches will be removed in a follow-up appointment with your surgeon. Your check-up will be a great time to ask questions and learn what to expect in the rest of your recovery process.

BODY LIFT
For those with excess, sagging skin, the body lift will help remove that excess skin and restore your natural body shape. Whether caused by aging, rapid weight loss or pregnancy, a body lift delivers great results if your goal is to get rid of sagging skin on different areas of your body.

Recent developments inWeight loss surgery have helped many patients overcome obesity and obtain their ideal body goals. However, stretched skin after weight loss is very common and you may be left with droopy skin flaps.

To learn more about the results you can achieve with the body lift, consult with Dr. Grant Hamlet, London’s premier body sculpting specialist.
ABOUT BODY LIFT SURGERY
The cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons at The Hamlet Clinic specialize in body and facial procedures. These professionals will meticulously remove unnecessary skin and help show off your weight loss results. This surgery often requires liposuction and skin removal techniques. At The Hamlet Clinic, we use Vaser Liposuction to reduce excess fat stores and help accentuate your body’s curves.
LOWER BODY LIFT
The main technique in a body lift is a lower body lift, also referred to as a belt abdominoplasty, which will help transform the abdomen and lower back. This procedure requires an incision pattern along the front of the abdomen and lower back. Excess skin will be removed through this incision and the underlying abdominal muscles will be tightened. The remaining skin will be lifted, helping to lift the buttocks and thighs.

For a more extensive buttock or thigh lift, you can discuss adding these techniques onto your procedure in your consultation. A thigh lift and butt lift will help reduce folds and irregularities in the surface of your skin. The result will be smooth thighs and perky buttocks.

EXTENDED TUMMY TUCK
Another popular form of a lower body lift is an extended tummy tuck. If you are not looking to reduce skin in your back, an extended tummy tuck will only reduce skin around your abdomen. The procedure is similar to a lower body lift and your abdominal muscles will be tightened and remaining skin made taut.

UPPER BODY LIFT
An upper body lift is a combination of techniques that help to make your upper body look young and smooth. An upper body lift may include techniques such as an arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, that will remove extra arm skin and improve the proportion of your arms. Other techniques include surgically reducing excess skin in the back, face, neck, and breasts. Incision techniques will vary based on your anatomical features and desired outcome.

The details of your full body lift surgery will be based on your preferred aesthetic and extent of improvement needed.

BLEPHAROPLASTY
Offered at our convenient location in London
Blepharoplasty is an eyelid lift that will reduce excess skin above the eyes and brighten your whole appearance.

They say the eyes are the window to the soul, but those beautiful windows can be challenging for other people to see the older we get. The more we age, the more our eyelids start to sag and lose elasticity. As a result, they can make you look much older and tired. Luckily, there is hope.

Located conveniently on Harley St, London, The Hamlet Clinic’s blepharoplasty procedures will help you look more dynamic and give you more confidence. Whether your reasons are medical or entirely cosmetic, blepharoplasty is a great way to look more youthful and vibrant. Successful blepharoplasty requires a full understanding of the eyelids’ anatomy, a meticulous preop evaluation, and precise attention to detail.[1] Since the area around the eyes is fragile and delicate, it’s essential to find a capable and competent surgeon, like our own Dr Grant, to perform this procedure. Please book a consultation with us now!
WHAT IS AN EYELID LIFT?
The term “blepharoplasty” was first coined in 1818 by a German surgeon from Warsaw named Karl Ferdinand von Gräf. A blepharoplasty is a procedure used to correct any disfigurations, defects, or deformities of the eyelids. Somebody could also have one only for purely aesthetic modifications. This surgery helps people with bags under their eyes, wrinkles, fatty deposits, or saggy lower eyelids.

ARM LIFT
Offered at our convenient location in London
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes hanging excess skin and endows the arm with a smooth, lithe contour.

Many men and women experience sagging upper arms due to weight fluctuations, the natural ageing process, or genetics. Dr Grant Hamlet has helped many of his patients to achieve the arm contour that they desire. If you’ve lifted weights to no avail, but still can’t lose the dreaded “bat wings” or “bingo arms,” it’s time to contact the Hamlet Clinic in London for a confidential consultation.
IS AN ARM LIFT FOR YOU?
Do you feel the skin that runs between your elbow and the armpit flapping in the breeze? Do your sleeves pull and bulge from handfuls of loose skin on your upper arms? It can be a common experience as we age, but it doesn’t have to be yours.

Frustratingly, you can spend hours at the gym attempting to tone this area to no avail. Building muscle does not address skin that has lost its elasticity, and may in fact just increase the size of your arms, making them even more noticeable.
You’re not alone. Sagging arms is a common issue. Perhaps you’ve recently lost a significant amount of weight. In a recent study, 92% of the responding surgeons felt that patients faced functional problems relating to excess skin after dramatic weight loss, and a similar rate of patients complained about this problem across the UK (1). Perhaps you’ve inherited an unfortunate family trait (sorry Gran). The loss of elasticity that comes with ageing skin also plays a big role in sagging arms, regardless of your lifestyle or history.

An arm lift reduces this sagging skin, tightens the upper arm’s tissue, and reduces localized fat pockets in the upper arm. Excess skin and fat are strategically removed before the skin is redraped. The result is a newly contoured region.
