From growing, harvesting, shipping, roasting and transit the one process that uses the most energy in the coffee chain is turning on your kettle! The final process. If there was any good time to trick my raw coffee being back in the tropics the time is now. I’ve planted a tray of yellow bourbon from Santa Lucia, Brasil. I’ve soaked them in water for a few days and thanks to and .coult they are now@in soil. Fingers crossed they grow! I hope to harvest the fruit and make Cascara which is essentially a tea made from the dried coffee cherry. V exiting

How to make a great iced caffe latte at home:
1. Dust off your stovetop espresso maker. 2. Fill the bottom compartment with boiling water. 3. Insert the coffee funnel basket and pack down your coffee (the more the merrier). 4. Screw down the lid (use a tea towel-it’ll be hot) and place on a high heat. 5. Once the first drips start to emerge reduce the heat to minimum. 6. Remove from heat and pour out your espresso immediately when it starts to splutter and become blonde. This makes the process much faster and you retain the sweet oily rich espresso without turning it bitter or watering it down. It may be small but it is mighty! 7. Once it’s cooled down simply add it to a glass of iced milk. That’s it!
