Meet the Adductors:
Adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus, gracillis & pectineus ๐
They inhabit the inner compartment of the thigh and, together, move the leg closer to the body's central axis, rotate the leg inwards, keep the hip stable and you - balanced on your feet. ๐๐ผ
The adductors are active all the time youโre in your feet. Even more so in some sports such as running, football, horse riding, gymnastics, swimming. They get a tough challenge by walking on a slippery surface or uneven ground - think wet leaves on icy pavements, wet tennis courts or muddy forest paths. ๐ซ
Any sudden increase in training or the type or intensity or just repetitiveness in training can also cause them to flare up in discontent, resulting in stubborn tendon pathology or muscular strain. โท๏ธ
