Oficina Inglesa is proud to unveil their new partnership with esteemed Spanish interior designer Lorenzo Castillo - his very first furniture collection featuring a variety of European styles and designs, each highlighting Lorenzo’s discerning eye and extensive knowledge as a former antique dealer.⁠

Everything in the collection is custom-made by hand in Oficina Inglesa’s workshop using carefully selected materials and fabrics from the interior designer’s collection for Gastón y Daniela. Each piece displays a variety of skills and techniques that range from the rigours of hand-carving and the delicacy of gilding to the technical abilities need for casting and lacquering along with traditional upholstery methods. ⁠

Lorenzo Castillo has a profound appreciation for the beauty of classic design. He effortlessly incorporates exquisite antiques, original furniture and objects into his memorable and spectacular interiors. Having first studied art history, he trained as an antiquarian opening his own Madrid shop before launching his career in interior design. “Over the years I’ve had the good fortune to buy and sell many wonderful antique pieces,” says the interior designer. “Therefore, it was thrilling to be asked to put together a furniture collection that spans several eras and inspirational periods for me. Every piece has a backstory that will give character to any interior and honours the finest artisanal traditions, which are increasingly rare in modern times.”⁠

A selection of pieces from the collection will be on display at Oficina Inglesa’s London showroom at , offering an opportunity to experience the furniture in person.⁠

Our classic Tartarelli occasional table shown in cherry wood with an Antique Black finish. Note the marble top partially circled by a brass gallery and its beautiful round en carquois legs. The marble top can be substituted by a table top in toughened glass or mirror.

From our Seine Riverfront project: The Queen Sophia stool is in cherry wood with an Antique Grey finish. Delicate and sophisticated, this piece is a classic Louis XV stool with a modern twist. It can be used as a coffee table, stool or bed ottoman.

The pieces are entirely handmade at Oficina Inglesa's workshop and are available in a great range of finishes and fabrics. Our Tessa secretaire is a practical piece for any home office. It features five long and five small drawers offering a lot of storage space. The desk is shown in cherry wood with a Leblon finish and details in Washed White and can be made with or without leather inlay.

The Royce is an incredible contemporary chest, here serving as a house bar in a project in Switzerland. This piece consists of 3 drawers and is shown in Cherry wood with a Pure Black finish. Note the unique design of the legs and the entirely curved front of the piece.⁠

"This vanity is taken from a piece of furniture I bought from an antique shop for my house in the North of England. It was an expensive piece and one of those purchases that you never regret. I love the table, it was a central piece in the room and the long drawer is so useful. ⁠

I adapted it to become a vanity by making it higher and adding the drawers. The deep drawers on either side of the basin take bottles standing up, which is so practical and means that I can keep the counter clear of beauty products. The long drawer is divided in two like a kitchen drawer and takes a huge quantity of all those bathroom necessities: cotton wool, plasters, make-up, lotions – it’s amazing. Mine isn’t even full, and I was worried I wouldn’t have enough storage with only this in my bathroom. ⁠

Drawers are so much easier for accessing small things than cupboards – the dreaded cupboard under the basin where you have to take a ton of stuff out to find those forgotten things at the back. Having legs, like our Bamboo Vanity, does also give an airiness to the room and space for a wastepaper basket. There is a lot of scope to customise this piece with the colour you paint it and the stone you use. It could even be specialist painted to look like an old faux bamboo piece." (Rita Konig) ⁠
