Today we unveiled an artistic tribute to Alan Turing, the pioneering mathematician and computer scientist, at our Paddington Central campus. The living artwork, ‘Message from the Unseen World’, comprises aluminium panels perforated by holes and LEDs which display extracts from Turing’s ground-breaking ‘Computing Machinery and Intelligence’ in patterns based on Baudot code. Spanning the width of Bishop’s Bridge Road, the artwork by Futurecity, and Hackney-based poet Nick Drake, depicts Turing speaking posthumously about his life.
