🔴 In a dramatic turn of events off the coast of Sri Lanka, an elephant found itself in a perilous predicament—stranded five miles out at sea! What started as a routine swim across the Kokkilai lagoon turned into a harrowing struggle for survival against the relentless Indian Ocean currents.

Imagine the scene: a majestic creature, known for its prowess in water, suddenly overwhelmed and struggling to stay afloat. It was a race against time as the Sri Lanka navy, alerted to the elephant's distress, sprang into action. Divers and wildlife officials worked tirelessly for 12 grueling hours, battling waves and exhaustion, to save this gentle giant.

With ropes carefully secured, they managed to guide the elephant back to safety, inch by painstaking inch. Once ashore, a thorough check-up confirmed the elephant's resilience—thankfully, no worse for wear after his aquatic ordeal. This heartwarming tale of courage and compassion reminds us of the remarkable bond between humans and wildlife, and the lengths we'll go to protect those in need.
