π‘ Elevate your garden with our artisan nester β the epitome of style and sustainability! π¦πΏ Handcrafted with love by weavers in South Bangladesh using recycled sari fabrics, this beautiful nest box provides a safe haven for your feathered friends to raise their families. Treat your garden to a touch of artisan elegance and watch as it becomes a haven for wildlife.
Ideally, on a quiet day, I like to watch the birds with a cup of coffee - those five minutes of calm really set me up and keep me going throughout the rest of the morning.
However, like a lot of mums, I don't always get that hot cup of coffee moment - often, there's hair to brush, bags to pack, cardigans to find and breakfast to be made (not to mention last minute spellings to learn).
On those sorts of mornings, I stand in my daughters' bedroom (they have the view over the garden) and watch the birds while I brush my teeth. It might not be the zen time I'd love to have, but it does mean I get those couple of minutes to check who's visiting.
Do you have a birdwatching routine? I would love to hear about it!
The common blue butterfly is fluttering about, bringing a splash of colour to our gardens. π¦ These pretty butterflies are our most widespread British species. These small, delicate butterflies are a delight to see, with their bright blue wings catching the sunlight. They thrive in sunny, open spaces, so June is the perfect month to spot them basking on wildflowers. Their presence is a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Have you noticed these beautiful butterflies in your garden?

The other afternoon I was working at the bottom of the garden when I heard a peeping sound. Up in the apple tree was a baby robin, cheeping to his parents, who I soon spotted nearby where I had just been digging. The adult robin picked up some worms and took them back to the juvenile, before they flew away together.
Since then, I've noticed them coming back to the garden more regularly, with the parents showing the baby where the various feeders are - although he isn't quite switched on enough to access the feeder himself, he seems pretty good at watching and learning.
Have you seen some juvenile birds in your garden this month?
Taking time to watch garden birds isnβt just a pleasant hobby β itβs also fantastic for your mental health! πΏ Here are three ways these feathered friends can boost your wellbeing:
Stress Reduction: Observing birds flitting about in your garden can have a calming effect, reducing stress and anxiety. The gentle activity and sounds of birdsong help to lower cortisol levels, promoting a sense of peace and relaxation.
Mindfulness and Presence: Birdwatching encourages mindfulness by bringing your attention to the present moment. Focusing on the details of birds' behaviours, colours, and songs can help quiet a busy mind and enhance your overall sense of awareness and connection with nature.
Boosted Mood and Mental Clarity: Spending time outdoors and engaging with nature can significantly improve your mood and mental clarity. The simple act of watching birds can release endorphins, those feel-good hormones, making you happier and more positive.
So next time you feel overwhelmed, step outside and take a moment to enjoy the birds in your garden. Your mind will thank you! π¦πΈ

Have you taken some time to pause and connect with nature this week? I've been taking five minutes, usually after filling my bird feeders, to sit with a coffee and just watch the garden to notice what's there. It really has made me feel more relaxed, and I hope it has the same effect on you, too.
Here's to more happy birdwatching moments! ππ¦
The house sparrow β the urbanite of the bird world! π Did you know they're expert city dwellers, making homes in nooks, crannies, and even your gutters?
Nesting is a family affair for house sparrows. They build nests with grass and feathers in colonies, creating a lively avian community. π‘π These social birds often share parenting duties, proving that teamwork is the secret to their thriving neighborhoods. π€π
To support house sparrows, add plenty of wildlife friendly planting - where there's insects, there's house sparrows. Although they might seem common, they're actually in decline so everything we can do will be a big boost.
Grateful for our customers and their fantastic feathered companions. Keep those testimonials coming! ππ₯
Robins are early risers and love to sing their hearts out at dawn. π
Did you know they often sing to defend their territories?
Robins take nesting seriously, crafting nests with grass, moss, and even hair for a touch of luxury. π‘πΏ Spot their nests low in bushes or ivy. They've even been known to nest in watering cans, hose reels, wheelbarrows and wellies. π₯π£
Thanks for sharing the love! π»π¦©
Have you taken five minutes this week to pause, rest, take some deep breaths and watch what's happening in your garden? Life is fast and I'm sure you have a tonne of pressure on your shoulders. A little time spent connecting with the nature outside your window will help you feel calmer and more at ease - I promise. I've been trying to take my "five simple minutes" this year and it has made a difference.
I'd love to hear if you've tried it too.
A big thank you to my customers for taking the time to write such lovely reviews. Your testimonials make my day. π©·π¦
Meet the bullfinch β the dapper bird with a burst of color! π¨ Did you know they're monogamous and often stay paired for life?
You may be lucky enough to spot a bullfinch this month, because the weather has been so much colder. Look out beneath your bird feeders for the tell tale splash of red.
For nesting, bullfinches go for dense shrubs and trees, creating a cosy haven with twigs and moss. π‘π³ The female takes charge of nest-building while the male plays the supportive partner.
Your testimonials speak volumes β birds and customers alike are singing praises! πΆπ€
Did you know starlings are nature's aerial acrobats? Watch them dive and swoop in mesmerising formations called murmurations β¨ These sociable birds are expert mimics, copying everything from other birds to car alarms. Talk about a talented bunch!
When it comes to nesting, starlings are a bit choosy. They prefer cosy spots in tree holes, buildings, or even your roof! π π³ During breeding season, they line their nests with feathers and leaves for extra comfort. Keep an eye out for their chatty gatherings and intricate nests this season! π‘π¬
Have you taken 5 minutes this week to hit pause, take some deep breaths and take a look out of your window? What have you seen? How did it feel?
Happy customers, happy birds β it's a win-win! Thanks for sharing your bird-watching moments. π¦β€οΈ
Squirrels are on the prowl for a mate! πΏοΈ I've been glued to their antics, watching them play a game of chase along the fences and up the trees. It's like a lively squirrel romance movie out there, with several males vying for the attention of one female. π³π
During winter, the female will get to work lining her cosy drey β a fluffy squirrel nest that's the epitome of winter comfort. π‘βοΈ She will feed her young for around 10 weeks, and one month later they're out and fending for themselves! ππΏοΈ
