Carreducker have launched their Saltaire Clogs Kickstarter campaign, shining a spotlight on the critically endangered craft of heritage English clog making.
Saltaire Clogs are available in vegetable tanned leather, which is responsibly sourced and produced using natural vegetable tanning agents like mimosa and oak bark.
Carreducker's Kickstarter is about preserving a heritage craft and the intangible cultural skills of clog making, but it's also about well made, slow fashion; about style and comfort; about repairability.
Plus, some of our lovely designer-makers at Oxo have modeled the clogs too!

Keep the spooky vibes going past Halloween with JeDeCo's Silver Vampire Skull Ring, made with sterling silver by Seventh Circle Artworks.
JeDeCo is a working collective of independent jewellery designers, each designer bringing their individual design flair and cultural references to create their jewellery collections.

This week's Maker of the Week is British Colour Standard!
Industrial designers and creators of collectable & desirable objects for the home, Victoria Whitbread and Jackie Piper, opened their first London-based design studio at Oxo Tower Wharf in 2003.
As the creators of the original Pantone Homewares collections with their colourful iconic Pantone mugs, they now bring British Colour into the home with their brand ‘BRITISH COLOUR STANDARD ©’ derived from an original, historical colour system first created in the 1930s & now revived for 21st Century contemporary living.
Explore the warm, golden tones in their Autumn edit as well as some great gift ideas. Every product is handmade and eco-friendly, recyclable, and Fair Trade as well as colourful.

ON THE EDGE | 31 October - 17 November in gallery@oxo ❌
On the Edge is curated by UK conservation charity Explorers Against Extinction and showcases three extraordinary collections: Extinction, On the Brink, and Sketch for Survival at gallery@oxo.
Extinction features an evocative blend of photography and sculpture by some of the most distinguished artists in the world, underscoring the devastating consequences of climate change, including species extinction and habitat loss over time.
Artists include Daniel Beltra, Conrad Shawcross, Anne London, Brianna Wang, and more.
On the Brink and much-loved Sketch for Survival, now in its eight year, showcases wildlife and wild space artworks by professional and amateur artists, including juniors, from all around the world.
All works are for sale in support of the charity.

Maker of the Week 💍
This week's Maker of the Week is Josef Koppmann Contemporary Jewellery!
An incredibly talented jeweller, Josef creates individually crafted collections constructed and forged from sterling silver and 24ct gold.
Each piece is entirely handmade using time honoured goldsmith's skills, resulting in minimalist, wearable jewels for both women and men.

Handmade ceramics, made with quality and care 💛
Sotis Studio Ceramics creates handmade ceramics that are thrown by hand and fired in a kiln, plated with 24ct platinum and gold. Each piece is a tribute to his love of texture. Sotis’ works are often inspired by organic forms, from trees, dry leaves and roots to black volcanic rock.
Each pot, bowl and vase is crafted with quality, precision, and is designed to last.

Maker of the Week 🧣
This week's Maker of the Week is Archipelago Textiles!
Archipelago was founded by Doreen Gittens, an award-winning textiles designer who specialises in hand-woven textiles that can be turned to into timeless fashion accessories and interior soft furnishings to beautifully enhance a home or work environment.
Her luxurious throws, bed covers and hangings are produced using the finest natural yarns of cotton, linen and silk. Doreen can also weave silks into a light gossamer fabric for scarves and bridal shawls as well as interior fabrics.
Earlier this year, Doreen also celebrated her 25th year with us at Oxo! 🎉

Ewen MacLaine of MacLaine Violins makes and restores instruments of the violin family 🎻
Working with carefully selected maple, spruce and other woods at his Oxo Tower Wharf studio, Ewen uses hand tools and traditional techniques which date back to the methods of the classical Italian makers.

ROEDEAN LONDON ART EXHIBITION | 27 - 29 September in gallery@oxo ❌
Roedean’s first London Art Exhibition in well over a decade, this exhibition at gallery@oxo will showcase the incredible talent of this year’s A Level Art Students, alongside the work of a selection of Old Roedeanian artists.
The work spans across paintings, sculpture, ceramics, and textiles, showing an incredible diversity in techniques and styles, all nurtured in their Art Studio.
Amongst the featured OR artists are Nick Carter, who in partnership with her husband, Rob, has works in The Hague and the V&A Museum, and luxury jewellery designer to the stars, Anabela Chan.

👺Kagoshima: Stories in Craft from South Japan by 和組 wagumi, showcasing unique craft items from the prefecture through ceramics, glass, textiles, tea, folk toys and bamboo crafts.
💍Form and Flow by Josef Koppmann Contemporary Jewellery, an exhibition of applied art in jewellery in collaboration with Dutch jewellery designer Vincent van Hees.
🖋️Celebrate British design and craftsmanship at Wingback's Open Studio with an exclusive display showcasing their latest stationery product launching at the end of September.
🪑Visit Bodo Sperlein London's Open Studio and explore timeless, original designs. The studio collaborates with global luxury brands across industries, from furniture and lighting to technology and tableware, showcasing versatility and innovation in every piece.
✨JeDeCo’s 'Inspired By' exhibition showcases their designers' individual heritage. With diverse origins and cultural influences, their members’ body of work promises an interesting collection.

The Wood Awards features inspiring work from some of the most talented contemporary architects, designers and makers working with wood in the UK, the exhibition demonstrating how timber can transform and enrich our lives – and contribute to positive change in the built environment.
The exhibition at gallery@oxo will display all shortlisted furniture items and objects for the Wood Awards 2024 alongside presentations of the shortlisted buildings, together telling a powerful story about what can be achieved using timber.

MATERIAL MATTERS 2024 | 18 - 21 September in Bargehouse ❌
This year's Material Matters design fair brings together 50 world-leading brands, designers, manufacturers and organisations to celebrate materials and their ability to shape society.
Taking place at the iconic Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, the Material Matters fair includes five floors of products, site-specific installations, a marketplace, a learning area and an extensive talks programme.
We interviewed a selection of makers and designers from this exciting line up to find out what they've got in store:
💡 Rosy Napper is a material researcher based in London, specialising in the sustainable development of waste based ceramics. She is exhibiting her new developed material, ReCinder, made from recycled ceramic and waste ash that has been diverted from landfill.
🪑 SURU is a furniture and lighting brand from Barcelona, founded by product designer and engineer Àlex Jiménez, that combines strict circular economy criteria and the best product design. This is SURU's first product launch in the UK at the Material Matters fair.
💇 Sanne Visser is a material design research studio mainly known for working with human hair as a material resource. Material Matters visitors can expect a fully immersive and hands-on experience where they’ll be able to witness the entire journey of hair, from live haircuts to demonstrations of spinning and rope making.

London Design Festival returns this weekend to Oxo Tower Wharf!
From millinery to ceramics, weaving to leatherworking and much more, a haven for the design and craft-curious is waiting to be discovered at Oxo. Our creative community of studio showrooms on the first and second floors is open to browse, buy, commission and learn with special demos and workshops.
Visitors can explore over 25 designer-maker open studios across two floors of the riverside landmark. You'll also find design fair Material Matters, taking over Bargehouse with installations, talks and more, as well as The Wood Awards at gallery@oxo.

In celebration of Care Bears there will be an amazing FREE event at gallery@oxo open from the 29th August - 10th September.
Come and view original pieces of Care Bears artwork by creator Elena Kucharik, one off pieces of artworks created by local artists, an immersive piece created by some of the Care Bears fans from across the globe, plus a Good Vibes Wall in which you can hang messages and view others, plus much more!
There will also be a shop where you can purchase some Care Bears plush, exclusive prints, or smaller items such as pin badges and tote bags.
