As June ends, what a month it’s been at LSEG as we’ve celebrated Pride Month 2024.

This year we’ve aligned to the theme of ‘Reflect, Empower, Unite’ to bring Pride to life.

We’ve reflected on the progress made towards our EDI goals, shared guidance on LGBTQ+ inclusion and started conversations about how we can all become more effective allies.

We’ve empowered our LGBTQ+ colleagues by sharing personal stories and hosted a special celebration at the London Stock Exchange where we were joined by LSEG Foundation Partner Diversity Role Models, the London Gay Men’s Chorus and Queera Lynn to close London’s markets in celebration of Pride Month. We were also delighted to see Dame Julia Hoggett, Arlene McDermott and Erica Bourne recognised on this year’s Pride Power List for their work to empower our LGBTQ+ colleagues and drive inclusion across LSEG.

Finally, we’ve united in Pride marches around the world, from Manila to London to show our commitment to a better future for all our LGBTQ+ colleagues.

It’s been a fantastic month of celebrations, and it doesn’t end here. We’re looking forward to continuing to drive LGBTQ+ inclusion throughout the year.

Institute of Student Employers Awards.

Congratulations to the Early Careers Team and everyone else involved in achieving this recognition and the graduate trainees themselves! It celebrates our commitment to excellence and building a new global programme focused on investing in the future talent pipeline at LSEG. It truly does take a village and couldn’t have come at a better time than when our very first Graduate cohort roll off their formal programme next week.

“I hadn’t been involved in Cloud technology before joining LSEG, but since joining I’ve developed my experience and capability. I’ve also got support to be trained and certified in Cloud. Now I’m focused on expanding my knowledge in it as know this will be a critical area in the next few years. I’d use the analogy of a car when you move from one model to another. You have to adapt, become familiar with the mechanics and fine tune for continuous improvement.

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈

At LSEG, we're proud to be building an inclusive culture where everyone truly belongs. This month, with millions of people around the world, we're celebrating Pride, using the theme ‘Reflect, Empower, Unite’ to acknowledge the past, celebrate the present and unite towards a better future for our LGBTQ+ colleagues. We’re looking forward to hosting a Market Close and marches in Manila and London in June and Bengaluru later in the year.

This year we're celebrating the introduction of enhanced parental leave offering from 1 July, meaning that everyone who’s worked at LSEG for at least 12 months can take a minimum of 26 weeks leave at full pay when growing their family, irrelevant of parent or gender. By supporting equal parental leave, we're addressing some of the societal barriers around LGBTQ+ equity. We're also launching a global learning programme that re-enforces how even the smallest decisions can help to build our inclusive culture. We know there's lots more work to do but we're committed to creating an equitable experience for all.

We are thrilled to welcome our 100-strong class of 2023 EMEA and AMERS graduates to the recently concluded IGNITE 2024 at our London office. This follows on from IGNITE APAC 2023 where 65 of our graduates came together in Bengaluru at the end of last year.

Our graduates participated in immersive workshops, skill sessions, fire side chats with senior leaders and networking events. They were also given the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering at a school in partnership with the LSEG Foundation and Urban Synergy. In this series of events, our graduates built connections within the group and deepened their understanding of their roles' impact on the financial markets' value chain.
