We often find ourselves consumed by our surroundings and it’s demands that we place ourselves last and neglect our purpose.
It has nearly been one year away from what I called home for so many years, a lot has changed for the better, I’ve moved to the same post code as my mum and sister holds, gave birth for the second time and decorated the apartment with my best friend. All of these changes led me to lose myself, my ME time and inner peace. I couldn’t find the woman I knew from before all that happened.
It was rough, heartbreaking and mainly carried rage towards myself- all for neglecting ME.
It’s hard to say ME FIRST! Its easier to focus elsewhere so the justification for not doing more for oneself is valid. (I’ve a young toddler /we’ve just moved/ sleepless nights etc.)
I can’t say today I’m all super duper on time management for myself though I can say that some days I attempt trying and some days I try harder to be more to me.
Though my greatest learning was to accept my new-self. The new reality and lifestyle that I’m living and working towards the parts that I wish to have and achieve.
I’m doing my best, each moment to be present, to be grateful and as sincere as possible to ME.

A teacher handed each student 👩🏻🎓 a balloon 🎈 and asked them to blow it, write their name on it and to throw it in the school hallway. Right after everyone completed the task, the teacher popped into the hallway and mixed all the balloons together and asked the students to seek their balloon within 5 minutes.⏳
The kids went ballistics 💣, super excited 🤩, loud🥁 and despite to their hectic search 🔍 were very disappointed as no one found their balloon.
The teacher 👩🏫 noticed no one succeeded to complete the task and asked the students to take the first balloon 🎈they come across with and to hand it to the person 👦🏻🧒🏾👦🏼🧒🏻 whose name was on it.
Within no time everyone had their balloon. 🎉
The teacher explained the students: “These balloons 🎈 are a metaphor to happiness😃. We'll never find it if everyone looks for their own. But if we worry about the happiness of others… we find ours as well”.🙋🏻♀️🙋🙋🏻♂️

Fears are there to protect us, fear is a self-defence mechanism to protect us. Our job is to detect and assess whether the fear is surfacing to protect us (based on our beliefs, the reality we decide to focus on) or whether we experience a real danger to our well-being - tangible - most of the time it’s the former...
Better manage your self-talk by:
1) Identifying your feeling
2) Breathing - focus on slow-paced breath and allow stillness to claim space in both your mind and body - push away thoughts
3) Asking yourself whether your fear is a reflection of your reality or the one you’re telling yourself (Do they come from a personal experience/trauma or a belief that you’ve adopted or was told is right?)
4) Understanding where that belief comes from AND reverse that thought/ fear by creating a better talk (fear of getting Covid-19, focus on the people that actually recover and notice how much love is shared amongst people)
5) Practising new thoughts regularly and create new circuits pattern - keep a positive mindset and though the law of attraction manifest the life you’re after - mindfulness.

The Shift: Getting Back to Balance
Visualisation is a very powerful tool to realise your goals. There are countless examples of Olympic athletes and other athletes using visualisation and how beneficial it is. (Look up Emily Cook on the NewYorkTimes)
” …the brain patterns activated when a weightlifter lifts heavy weights are also similarly activated when the lifter just imagined (visualised) lifting weights. “
Our vision board MUST include feelings and emotions around each and every item we put on the board. We need to embody the feeling of the specific item. Feeling it coming true. By doing so, we create an attachment and connection to the item/topic, versus it just being a piece of paper on the board that looks nice.
Realising your goals would happen once you start living your goal, rather than stating affirmations, act as if you’re already living that goal, increase inner self-talk and give your body and surrounding the state your after. Believe in it as if you’re already there.
Let me walk you through the process:
1. Crystallise your goal, you want to have clarity, to know exactly what and how your goal would be like. Formalise it in your mind. (Ask questions and flash it out)
2. Think, speak and act as if you’re already living that goal - this is the crucial part, you need to remove all pre-conditioning thoughts and pattern, it might take time.
3. Calm your mind and allow the positive thoughts & energy weaving through the imagery of that goal. Embody the new way of being in the present.
Do not measure your progress with your surroundings/reality, everything is possible.
Socrates believed that philosophy should achieve practical results for the greater well-being of society. He attempted to establish an ethical system based on human reason rather than theological doctrine.
Socrates pointed out that human choice was motivated by the desire for happiness.
We all seek to better, our lifestyle, ourselves, our means, our skills and so much more. All we want is to be happy.
To achieve our desires, we first need to face ourselves.
Facing my fears, failures and disappointments allowed me to adopt a positive view on my journey as well as to embrace a loving approach towards oneself.
