During perimenopause and menopause, women can experience many symptoms, perhaps one of the most frustrating being weight gain which is caused predominantly by a slowing of your metabolic rate. Reducing oestrogen levels means any weight you gain tends to accumulate around the middle and sometimes your back.

Our ‘Nutritional Health Support Package’ is designed to help by providing access to personalised dietary, lifestyle, and emotional advice from our team of nutritional health experts Antonia de Gier and Nigel Denby. The support available includes help with:

👉 Menopause health
👉 Weight management
👉 Digestive health
👉 Irritable bowel syndrome
👉 Behavioural techniques to empower change
👉 And much more!

Arrange a complimentary 15-minute nutritional health discovery call with Antonia or Nigel to discuss how they can help:

This we’d like to help raise awareness of IBS, digestive symptoms and women’s health. Our team of women’s health specialists include nutritionists and dietitians who can help.

In our blog article, we explore if there is a link between menopause and IBS and what can be done to alleviate symptoms.

Read more> https://hormonehealth.co.uk/digestive-symptoms-ibs

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is thought to be caused by the gut and brain over-communicating. In other words, talking to one another too much.

Even though the gut-brain connection is very real, IBS is NOT "just all in your head."

Why is it so important to raise awareness of IBS?

There are often many presumptions and misunderstandings when it comes to IBS. Not every illness is visible and you don’t have to look a certain way to have IBS. It’s time to encourage conversations about our toilet habits, because going to the toilet is really one of the most natural processes out there, which is common to us all. This IBS awareness month, we are dedicated to raising awareness even more so.

You can find out more via the link -https://gutscharity.org.uk/awareness/ibs-awareness-month/

Do you have any experience with IBS? We’d love to hear from you in the comments 💚

Keeping a symptom diary is a useful way to make sure you don’t forget something important when attending a medical appointment. It also helps to let your doctor know what your symptoms are and see if there is any pattern.

Understanding your symptoms is particularly important as many conditions such as endometriosis and polycystic ovaries can have similar symptoms making diagnosis more complex.

At Hormone Health we have designed a symptom diary which you may wish to use.

Can pelvic health physiotherapy help improve continence issues during the menopause and perimenopause?

Many women can experience either a new onset of incontinence, or a worsening of incontinence issues during the menopause and perimenopause due to rapid weakening of the pelvic floor muscles. This does not mean that it is normal or that you should put up with the symptoms.

Pelvic health physiotherapy has been shown to resolve 50% of continence issues and significantly improve an additional 25%.
