Discover the story behind why Dr Megan Rossi founded The Gut Health Clinic. 💫

Our gut microbiota(GM) are incredibly smart and have a pretty impressive skill set..

So what does our GM actually do for us? Well here is a quick snapshot:

💊 Can make vitamins, amino acids, hormones, chemical messengers (e.g. serotonin) and many others

💪 Trains our immune system

📈 Helps to strengthen our gut barrier and balance blood sugar levels, regulate appetite, lower blood fats and may prevent many diseases

📢 Communicates with our vital organs including brain, liver and heart

👾 Prevents invasion from bad microbes

🙅‍♀️ Metabolises drugs and deactivates toxins

🚽 Influences gut movement and function

There are many factors that affect your GM. Some of them we can change or influence (e.g. diet or lifestyle) and others we can’t modify (e.g age)

Having a higher level of GM diversity is associated with better overall health and increased resilience to infection, so it's important you look after your GM to allow it to flourish

The good news about our GM is that so much of it is modifiable and our environment has more of an effect on our GM than genetics

⭐️ Use our checklist to give your GM a little TLC

If you are struggling with where to start, all of our dietitians provide personalised and bespoke advice to suit your dietary choices and preferences. Please book in if you would like support to optimise your GM and get you started on your gut health journey
