Everest Spice

Sutton residents in the know have been visiting Everest Spice since it opened. If you haven't heard of it until now, it probably means those same residents have been doing a good job of keeping it all to themselves. Now I've put you in the loop, make sure you give this concealed cracker a go.

The cuisine is a fusion of Nepalese and Indian; great care has been taken to ensure the authenticity of every dish on the menu. From the momos - which are small steamed dumplings filled with chicken or lamb, traditionally served with a sauce of tomatoes, ginger and chillies - to the diverse range of fish and meat dishes, there is evidence of true craftsmanship in each plate delivered from the kitchen. My personal favourite was the himchuli king prawn with lemongrass - succulent, delicate and delicious. Each dish we sampled had been created using only the freshest ingredients and specially selected herbs and spices, and was free of additives and artificial colouring - genuine home-style cooking in a wonderfully sleek and colourful restaurant setting. Incidentally, you must try the mango lassi made here - it's sweet, creamy and more than a little moreish.

Owner Anish's dedication to providing first-class service and food is evident throughout an evening here. His restaurant combines a special dining experience with true value for money: a feat not easily achieved

The food was tasty, cooked well and nicely presented.
The accompanying sides and naans were fresh and enhanced the respective dishes. The service was attentive and friendly, yet not over powering. Clean coloured may complete the ambience and atmosphere. Love food? this may be the best Nepalese I have ever had.......!!

The Everest Spice Nepalese and Indian Restaurant occupies a superb position within the cutting edge Ebbisham Community Centre in the small Surrey town of Epsom.
