Designed to be playful, the art direction used the tactility of different shapes and textures along with a series of super satisfying interactions to create an ident which gave a moment to lose yourself in.
During the height of the invasion, Suspilne made a decision to prioritise their light
entertainment channel, Kultura in aid of moral support for Ukrainian families under the stresses of war.
Our extensive strategy, devised with sister agency PsLondon, was divined from the principals of self-determination, clarity, transparency, perpetual motion and progress - which informed and underpinned the ensuing principals of all the work we made. We already knew this was a once in a lifetime project with a nation who’s history of self-determination was humbling.
Work-wise, post-invasion, everything pivoted to be about news - getting the news out, show the world, avoid fake news, digitally integrated truth. We could not get involved in the clients’ news making, but we could realign our scope of branding works to help THEM make this easier.
We had been on this true, streamlined integration for a while but it was about to be tested in the harshest and most tragic of circumstances at the highest stakes - War.

Some very special new work has just launched for .media & .news
At the start of this year we landed a very exciting project. At the time we didn’t know just how colossal and frankly important in a global
context that project would be.
The project was a full rebrand of the portfolio of Ukrainian media properties named ‘Suspilne’. Suspilne means 'Public' and they are the national broadcaster of Ukraine.
Even at that time our proposed client partners were the most professional, trusting, savvy, warm group of clients that I’d probably met in my career. As it would turn out these people would become friends and truthfully people that we now consider to be heroic.
We were doing weekly video conference meetings with our client and on Wednesday 23rd February, we had just signed off on a whole brand architecture and even an advertising and promotional campaign. We were set to roll out an outdoor campaign, shoot promos, shoot live action idents - all in Ukraine. The following day, the idea of ad campaigns and live action idents in Ukraine would be understandably considered follies in an about turn realised with head spinning speed as we awoke to the news of Russian tanks rolling into the country.
We immediately asked what we could do for our colleagues. This wasn’t just ‘work’ we some of us enquired at that time if there were ways we could offer up our homes to any of our clients families that could make it to the UK.
