CHANGE YOUR LOOK ➕️ For the evening on the wedding day with accessories, lace-over dresses

Sashes, beaded belts, lacey tops, and different shoes can easily change a bridal look for the evening without changing the actual dress. A wedding day can be a long day, so having a slightly different look for the evening can make things feel interesting and it’s nice to maybe have a different look for different parts of the wedding. Having different accessories is a much cheaper and easier option than having two separate dresses.

If you adore lace, we have two new exciting laces in the new 2024 collection, Mystic Rose and Wild Rose, worn over their own under slips that come in a choice of colours; champagne gold, soft blush or ivory. Or try wearing the laces over the Elsa dress made from liquid gold satin. You can simply take the lace off to create two completely different looks for day and evening.

I think the process of finding the perfect dress is bit like finding ‘The One’, finding the right partner or finding the perfect home to move into – it’s got to feel right hasnt it? It has got to feel like you. Feel like yourself with, or a home you’ve already mentally moved into and decorating.

The right dress is the one you’re naturally styling, you can see yourself getting ready in on the day and the one you can imagine having lots of fun in.

Like great perfect partners and the perfect houses to move into, they can also be growers too can’t they? From all your bridal appointments trying on dresses, you may find one dress keeps popping into your head more than the others. If any of this happens, its a great sign as it could mean THAT’S THE DRESS! Trust your gut instinct, it won’t let you down.

NATURAL DYEING➕️ My instagram feed seems to be flooded with loads of natural dyeing posts lately – great if you just so happen to be creatively and craft minded, but what if you’re not? Can you upcycle your dress so it can go way beyond the wedding day? Where can you go to have your dress dyed without it harming the environment or the dress? Is there another way?

Yes there is, it's called NATURAL DYEING which use dyes created from foraged plants and food waste, like madder, avocado, pomegranate and marigold, to create amazing colours. Since we started dressing timelessly chic brides over 16 years ago, we have always been asked if our dresses can be dyed and we've always had to say, NO, it's not a good idea for various reasons. The main one being that usual traditional methods involves the use of harmful chemicals and requires extremely high temperatures causing unpredictable shrinkage rates for the outer and lining silk layers of a dress. Natural dyeing is a great way to transform a dress, and we’re going to be running a series of posts exploring other ideas of what you can do with your dress after the big day.

EARTH DAY ➕️ 🌍 🌏 🌎 If you didn't know, yesterday was Earth DAY! Did you know ... that the very first Earth Day took place in 1970 after an oil spill in America brought environmental issues to the forefront of everyone's minds. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 22 million people came out in support of environmental reform. It started new environmental movement. Growing stronger every day.
Each of our dresses makes much-needed baby clothes and workwear tops goes to empower new mothers, refugees and marginalised women. Our innovative way we eliminate waste helps the planet and local communities... and it doesn't compromise on quality and style either. Sustainability and quality go hand-in-hand. We believe by transforming our leftover fabrics into valuable donated items. Each of our new slow fashion pieces we'll be introducing will also have the same ethics.

HELLO ➕️ I don't pop my face on here that often, this is a pic taken a few years ago by Eliott Wilcox for which has graced a few tube posters.... We're actually currently in the midst of finishing our new 2024 bridal collection, can't wait to share. I absolutely love the creative process. We've also got a new slow fashion range coming too of classic, timeless shapes that'll stay the same, but they'll always be in limited edition colours and fabrics with only a few made of each available every two months. When they're gone they're gone, and they'll be some new colours. We've got s tee-shirt style dress, the ultimate shirt dress, a quilted style parka jacket, a satin skirt, a trapezium style dress... and more. I'm wearing a style that will also be included too. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
