🚢 May/June Edition of Ship & Boat International!

It's the end of an era - and the beginning of a new, electric age - for offshore wind farm CTV operator Tidal Transit, which has taken delivery of what's intended to be its last ever diesel-fuelled newbuild. Commercial director Leo Hambro tells Ship & Boat International why now is the perfect time for CTVs to embrace electrification, in line with advances in battery-charging technology and hullform design.

Elsewhere in our May/June issue, we probe Kongsberg for an in-depth overview of remote operation centres (ROCs) - the shoreside 'brains' behind uncrewed vessels and marine drones - including the drive for optimal connectivity and good ergonomics, plus a glimpse at possible future features. We also check out BMT's 'mini' service operation vessel (SOV) concept, drawn up to bridge the size gap between CTVs and larger SOVs, and take a look at an ambitious project to replace the entire diesel water taxi fleet on Argentina's Paraná Delta with sleek new battery-powered craft.
