Autumn 🍂
Remember when our sister restaurant faberrestaurants made a stout with unbarredtaproom?
The result was ‘Shuck it’; a moreish, mineral-y salty-sweet stout. Unique, full bodied and delicious.
Rumour has it that if you ask Captain Danny over here at The Vic for a pint of the good stuff, he may have some left somewhere… but only if you ask really, really nicely.
And don’t forget to pair your pint with our £2 a pop Oysters (stout + oysters= the OG power couple).
Available from 4-6pm, Monday-Friday 🦪
We’re a fan of the Seafood diet.
We see food.
And eat it.
BOOM BOOM 🤓
Come on… you know you laughed.
Ok, you smiled.
Ok, maybe only internally… but still…
There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home….
☺️
It’s howling a gale out there, so make sure you keep yourself safe by heading to your closest boozer, grabbing a pint and waiting for all of this to blow over. 🍻
Why are we so fishy?! 🎣
Because British seafood is absolutely delicious and we should be proud of it 🫡
It’s does mean that you’ll never see frozen prawns, tuna or farmed salmon on our menu, but so what, there’s always plenty more fish in the sea 🤿
Our suppliers are the best, because their ‘fisherthem’ nip out in the morning and land the same day.
Us in the kitchen have the easy job, throw on some salt and slap it on the grill 🧑🍳
Looking outside today, it’s exciting to see the season changing, we can’t wait to start looking at the more ‘comforting’ recipes whilst still using the best our seas have to offer ✌️
Let’s hear it for the kitchen 👏👏👏
What a view 😍
Our happy hour runs Monday through Friday every week from 5-7pm (extended to 10pm on Thursdays 🙌)
2 cocktails for £14- and treat yourself to Oysters at £2 a pop while you’re here 🦪
Sounds like a pretty perfect evening to us 👌
Why did the sand blush? Because the sea w**d 🤭
No, but seriously. Did you know that seaw**d is a superfood, good for everything from providing your body with antioxidants to helping manage heart health and blood sugar management?
With all that good stuff, it’s important to us that we get our seaw**d from good people- which is why we work with cornishseaw**d
Caro and Tim are two people who really love seaw**d, and who wouldn’t want to get their food from people who love what they do?
So from their farm to your fork, know that you’re eating good, you’ll feel good, and you’re doing good. How good is that?

That’s right, we have the pleasure of shucking these Maldon oysters every single day.
And if you time it right, they are only a couple of quid each 😮
We have shucked oysters from far and wide and I don’t think you will get much better than these little gems from Essex
From the farm to our fridge in under and hour (Carlos is a demon behind the wheel 🚐)
Don’t think you like oysters?
You’re wrong 😑
And we even fry them nowadays, so there really is not excuse not to slurp a couple back
Cheers shuckers 🍺

We’ve read up on the star signs, and if you were born on anything which ends with ‘day’, then it’s written that you should treat yourself to dinner at The Vic this week.
Look, we don’t make the rules, ok?
But we did hear about this one person who followed our advice and came in for the Plaice with cafe de Paris butter artichoke butter… and the next day they WON THE LOTTERY.
Ok, so maybe it was £2 on a scratch card.
But that still totally counts.
If you’re a bit of a FUISSY wine drinker (little joke for all the vintners out there 😏), then we’ve got the drip for you.
Pouillet Fuissy is like our perfect date- steely, rich and peachy. This wine knows what it wants and it’s not afraid to ask the waiter for a nicer table, because YOU’RE WORTH IT.
There’s a slight minerality cutting into the fruit notes, making this a gorgeous pairing for fish and seafood (especially lobster- because, if you’ve already ordered this wine then you might as well go all out tbh).
Serve ice cold (as we do, obvs), ideally in a lovely beer garden in East London accompanied by good friends, great food and lashings of summer sun.
Fancy a boogie pre-game meal?
We have a few of these bad boys going today straight from Dorset!

We’re so proud of our food here at The Vic- especially where it comes from.
All of our seafood is carefully selected from sustainable suppliers up and down the British coast: you won’t find anything on your plate which comes from further away than the Shetland Islands.
Our meat and veg are no different; we believe in supporting farmers who share our vision of making hospitality an industry which can protect our future- not harm it.
So every time you enjoy one of our delicious dishes, know that you’re always eating a meal on a mission.
