That’s why all of our core team at SSMRT Ltd hold higher level First Aid Qualifications! We are trained to save lives! We are trained to use Oxygen! We have vital lifesaving equipment with us on all shifts!

We are also Registered with HPAC (the Health Practice Associates Council); this enables anyone to view our up to date and live DBS, as well as our qualification status!

We carry our HPAC licenses with us at all times alongside our sia licenses while on duty.

There’s security Companies and then there is us!

As minimum we provide:

- Staff are trained to a minimum of Basic life support; this qualification is refreshed annually

- We provide a qualified medical team (EMT); The medic team have a minimum of a FREC 3, FPOSI Level 4, MIRA, PHTLS, TECC and ILS

- The Head Door holds a minimum of an ILS qualification

- All Security Staff attend monthly in-house training, this includes (but is not limited to); Customer support, Conflict Management, Use of Body Worn Cameras and Data protection, Handcuffing, control and restraint, Mental health First Aid Awareness, Safeguarding, First Aid refreshers, Statement writing, Ask Angela and WAVE, Search procedures, ACT 1 and ACT 2, Fire Marshall.

- We deploy breathalysers to medic team, and these are used if we believe a customer or a potential customer are over intoxicated, this also allows us to provide welfare to intoxicated customers before they leave. This reduces the risk of harm and incidents.

- Welfare Teams are provided to monitor the crowd inside the venue ensuring that any customers at risk are brought to the attention of the security and medic teams for monitoring

- When possible we have a Welfare/Medic room where customers can attend for quiet space, medical attention and welfare. Water and blankets are available here, as well as monitoring from our qualified medic team

- At all times we try our best to contact friends and family of vulnerable customers however this is not always possible. If this is the case, the customer is closely monitored until they are safe to leave the venue, and then our security team ensures they leave via a licensed Taxi/Mini Cab.

- Body Worn Cameras are deployed to the security team; this uploads immediately and is available immediately upon upload to authorities if requested. Any incidents that have been captured are evidenced and held on the system for a minimum 18 months.

It has been an absolute honour to support this guy this season! From his very first game he turned the tide for and they haven’t looked back since! Wishing you all the best in your next venture with we cannot wait to see you grow in your journey supporting

Meanwhile many security companies continue to pay staff low wages. 1998 my starting rate working the door was £10 per hour! 24 years later we struggle to get clients to pay us a decent enough rate that enables us to pay staff £15+ per hour.

In 2021 we had one member of our team get a fracture to his lower lumbar after he was attacked by a group of males, one member of the team fractured his wrist after another member of our team was punched for no reason by a customer, one member of our team disclocated his shoulder while pulling a crowd of football yobs away from the other member of staff that was caught in the middle of a fight! Since lockdown, verbal and physical assaults on our team are the highest they’ve ever been!

So for those of you helping to drive down rates while undercutting people that are trying to get a decent wage for people that frankly are there to save lives, maintain calm and reduce incidents in venues and events please give yourselves a massive pat on the back!

Rather than receiving higher levels of pay that they deserve, Security staff can earn the same wages and sometimes more by going to work in retail with less risk to their safety!

Let’s continue to raise standards! Raise rates of pay! And actually recognise security as a profession to be taken seriously! Let’s get people that have a presence and make a difference back into security!

As of this year, all of our Core Team will be trained in ILS (intermediate life support)! A qualification that is recognised by the NHS. We are also working towards our clinical governance and will have this in place in the not too distant future!

Winter Wonderland is an excellent introduction into who we are as a company and whether or not you want to work with us in the future! I strongly recommend joining us for the 6 weeks here and then if you’re interested in joining the core team we can have that discussion over the Winter period!

Winter wonderland we have positions available as stewards, static DS, Response team, control room team and general patrol security.

The rate of pay here is £10.85 per hour for stewards and starts at £11 per hour for security.
