Bakewell tart anyone?
This birthday special is almost gluten free using brown rice flour for the pastry. Unblanched almonds for a full almond flavour and reduced sugar jam make this tart lighter on the stomach yet still an indulgent treat!
With autumn in full swing, this seemed like a perfect decoration for our buckwheat carrot cake.
No refined sugar, no gluten, but all the flavour and all the fun! π
Do you like waffles? Do you like cake? Why not making a waffle cake! π This birthday creation was so much fun to make. And it's a bit healthy too! π
August can only mean one thing: more blackberries! And it means more blackberries filled baking! This twist on Tart de Santiago takes the airlike almond sponge and carries the fruit flavour beautifully. No gluten, no flour - just pure heaven!! π
Smells like spring in here! ππ
Lighter days call for lighter bakes! Well made pavlova is Crosby on the outside and marshmallowy inside. We followed recipe to achieve this perfection. Brown sugar gives it a golden colour who works well with our fruit of choice π₯.
Give it a go and let us know what you think!
Sweet potato brownies anyone? Our signature root veg bake is a perfect treat with no added sugar at all!
Root vegetables are a great addition to cake as they make up for a moist and nutritious base. Paired with good gluten free flour ( we used buckwheat) makes for a great afternoon tea or breakfast alternative! ππ₯
We recently fell in LOVE with tonka beans, so it seemed appropriate we user for out Valentine's Cake. Pairs perfectly with vanilla buttercream and white and milk chocolate. Pure decadence!
We user xylitol for the cake and golden icing sugar for the topping to make it refined sugar free. If you're making it gluten-free, use neutral flour (like white rice): tonka flavour, albeit wonderful is very subtle so make sure you give it a chance to shine! π
Getting ready for this weekend ππ
As always, our Swiss roll only contains unrefined brown sugar and a homemade blackberry jam π

This apple rose reminds us we should focus on what we have (apples) rather than what we don't (flour π).
It's not only pretty but works as a healthy snack too!
2020 was a bit like this little vegan Battenberg: kinda wonky, kinda surreal. As if you followed Alice down the rabbit hole πβ οΈβ₯οΈ
Hope you made the best of it and ate your cake!
Happy New Year!
Certain flavours just speak Christmas. This corn based, orange and rosemary cake ticks all the festive boxes. It's completely gluten free and uses ground almonds and plant based bilk to reduce fat content, yet keeps the cake springy and moist.

Why not trying something new this gorgeous summer? This wonderfully light vanilla courgette sponge is a great base for any summer fruit toppings, zingy icing or on its own!
Gluten free, fat frre, yet full of flavour!
We're all in this together π
Maybe one of the upsides of this whole situation is the appreciation of one another and realising we are all affected by it in some way.
It's also time to embrace the new, hence this cherry, almond and white potato (yes, potato) cake.
Absolutely free and full of flavour!
