CGI & Aviation.

We facilitate the process of rebranding an airline, approaching the project in two phases: Design Iteration and Visualisation. Bridging the gap between design and CGI, our platform allows graphic designers to review and iterate the project internally, within the agency, and interface with us at the end of the cycle to produce the final shots. We shoot portraits of aircrafts sporting new livery, in flight or on-ground context. The images are composed over photography or contextualised in a 3d environment. Our large library of airports, aircraft models and backplates guarantees the most photorealistic quality.

Aviation CGI: Enhancing Aircraft Cabin Interiors

Creating a clean surface topology in aviation CGI not only results in visually appealing models but also offers several advantages that enhance the quality and efficiency of the work produced.

Rebuilding an aircraft cabin interior offers three primary rewards:

Simplicity: Unlike CAD conversions, there is no need for a clean-up process or the removal of extraneous parts. We model only what is necessary and visible, streamlining the process.

Optimization: The cabin interior can be simplified to its essential components. Through strategic use of symmetry and mirroring, we can maintain high fidelity while keeping the polycount low.

Texturing: Texturing is significantly easier compared to working with CAD files. We can quickly unwrap and map surfaces, a task often impractical with CAD conversions.

These benefits are clear to any 3D artist familiar with the technical aspects of the field.

Lighting an aircraft cabin.

Lighting in CGI is key to achieving photorealism and is defined by four qualities: Colour, Direction, Intensity and Softness.

Soft shadows are typical of large light sources as softboxes in photography or the same sky when is overcast.

Hard shadows are produced by smaller light sources such as sunlight or a light bulb.

The inverse-square law does the rest.

With 3d lighting, we inform about the time of the day and the weather conditions. More than that, with a sapient use of contrast and volumetrics, lighting, in CGI, is used to create a mood and convey emotions.

Our team recently rebuilt the A350 cabin interior in 3D using subdivision surfaces.

By modeling the section instead of using CAD we can produce better work, faster.

The optimized and lightweight cabin offers better performances both in viewport and rendering, not to mention how much easier it is to shade and texture.

Bringing the A350 cabin into real-time unlocks a new array of possibilities for 3D visualization. With the latest advancements in Unreal 5 and technologies such as Lumen and Nanite, converting a traditional 3D scene to real-time is now faster, and most of the photorealistic qualities can be retained.

This enables us to navigate the spaces like a video game and interact with the aircraft components, providing a whole new level of immersion and understanding of the cabin.
