Painting flash has always been an integral part of Taylor’s creative process. He pulls inspiration from a wide variety of references from classic tattoo flash and surrealist art to historical ancient artefacts and architecture, demonstrating a unique take on classic American traditional

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - Anna Tiger-titz
Anna-Claire started tattooing in 2016 in her home country of South Africa before moving to London in 2019. Anna joined our team here at cloak and dagger at the beginning of 2022.
Since starting tattooing, Anna has always had a very recognisable style which is largely influenced by her home town of Durban. Motifs such as tropical founa, palm trees, tigers, monkeys and ladies with animal print bodies just to name a few.
Anna has found herself very influenced by Indian miniature paintings, Tibetan motifs and a wider array of Asian art. Which she then tattoos in the style of American traditional.
Outside of tattooing, Anna spends a lot of time travelling the world, drawing inspiration from wherever she goes. This in turn has an influence on her other major passion, painting.
Anna paints large scale acrylic pieces, mixing tattooing into her canvases with the use of collaged stencils within the designs. This mixed media approach creates a unique blend of fine art and modern techniques within contemporary tattooing.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - Luke Jinks
Luke started tattooing in 2011 under Nick Baldwin at Infinite Ink then moved to One Shot Charlie's in Stourbridge before joining Cloak and Dagger when we first opened in 2013.
Since being one of the first resident artists here at Cloak and Dagger, Luke has been developing his unique take on the western traditional style, drawing influence from folk art, American imagery as well as antiques and also loves tattooing Japanese inspired designs.
Luke cites his major influence as being Indian art with a special mention to “Tipu’s Tiger" which is housed in the V & A. It is a life sized mechanical wooden toy of a tiger mauling a British soldier from the 18th century.
Inspired by a traditional tattooing approach of representing their artwork by creating flash, Luke creates a constant and varying flow of flash designs

From the age of 16 Micky knew he wanted to tattoo, and he began tattooing in his home town of Brescia in 2008. Looking to build on his initial experience he moved to London and began working at a shop in Croydon. He joined the team here in 2014.
Whilst he is happy to tattoo using colour his main focus remains in Black and Grey. Comfortable working in a variety of styles he loves working on Japanese inspired designs, as well as pattern work and American Traditional motifs.
Micky takes a hands-on innovative approach to his work which is demonstrated in his ability to use free hand on styles such as tribal.
Outside of tattooing he enjoys spending time at his workshop, designing and making things out of metal and wood. He has also become the shops resident pit master, overseeing a number of smoked meat based events since the summer.
Custom designs or flash, Micky has space to tattoo from January. DM or contact the shop to book in!
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - Michele C
Michele has been with us since 2015 after moving to London in 2008, but began tattooing in his hometown of Genova, Italy in 2001.
He has always worked in a Japanese style, specialising in large scale work.
The main subjects in his work are based on traditional Japanese art, heavily influenced by the classic Japanese painters Kuniyoshi and Hokusai.
Michele’s work has evolved to become a true representation of the art style from studying the traditional art his work is based on. While traveling in Japan, Michele spent some time tattooing in Nagasaki alongside other Japanese style artists. Some of these artists brought a South American influence to their work, this inspired Michele’s approach to the aesthetic of his work by influencing the structure and colour, which can be seen in the smooth forms and vibrant colour.
Custom designs or flash, Michele has space to tattoo over the next few weeks, DM or contact the shop to book in!

After an apprenticeship in Milan, tattooing in various street shops as well as conventions in Italy and abroad, she moved to the south coast of the UK in 2015, joining us here in 2022.
Currently focusing on ornamental, floral and black and grey work she would also like to move towards pattern and black work as well as larger ornamental projects.

Daniela has been a resident with us since 2021 but started tattooing in 2018 after moving to London from her hometown of Bari, Italy.
Early on in Daniela’s career she worked in a variety of styles, having a pivotal moment when a walk-in wanted a rose in a glass dome from Beauty and the Beast. This inspired Daniela to focus on creating designs inspired by classic Disney characters, reimagined in her style.
Daniela loves tattooing characters from Disney, anime and cartoons in general, creating designs ranging from honouring the original artform to recreating the characters in a sketchy or Chibi style with an emphasis on bright saturated colour.
