Growing up, I’ve always been curious about computers, fiddling around with the settings and seeing movies with those cool hackers and tech wizards. This curiosity led me to teach myself HTML and CSS around the age of 12, just for the fun of making random websites and exploring the world of CS.

I attended an all-girls school that didn’t really encourage computer science as a subject. Despite this, I chose CS for my GCSEs and then A Levels too, consistently choosing to take on the hardest projects just to prove a point. At 16, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, I started a business as part of a school Young Enterprise scheme. Leading the company to win four awards, it was here that I solidified my love for the intersection between tech and business. With all the restrictions due to the pandemic, I utilised my tech knowledge to connect with our customers online, accelerate our production line, and stand out from competitors. It felt incredibly fulfilling to complete this challenging task and succeed against the odds.

This passion carried me through A Levels and into university, where I decided to pursue Computer Science with Management. Choosing King’s College London was unplanned but turned out to be a better fit for me and I’ve found a welcoming community here. My journey hasn’t been straightforward; I applied to various universities, but it was London’s atmosphere, opportunities, and connections that really drew me in. There’s something about being in a city that’s alive with possibility that you don’t get at a campus university.

I’ve always been keen on sharing what I know, which led me to tutor computer science on the side. I find that the hardest part isn’t the coding itself but the way of thinking that problem-solving requires. I’m definitely planning to do a Master’s, though I’m torn between further specialising in computer science or exploring business and leadership more through an MBA. My interest in tech consulting and AI, alongside my love for coding and leading projects, is pulling me in several directions. However, what I know for sure is that I want to be at the forefront of whatever business I’m in, coding, leading, and innovating.

He will be speaking on Resilience, Impact and Success.
