But let’s rewind to the beginning: London, where weekends were filled with parties and weekdays were just about recovering.

In the midst of it all, I hit a rough patch with my health, seeking medical solutions that led me on a journey from one specialist to another.

But it wasn’t until I moved to Hong Kong and found myself at rock bottom, feeling lost and aimless, that I decided to make a change.

Lying on my bathroom floor, I made a spontaneous decision to try yoga, thinking it couldn’t hurt. Little did I know, that one yoga class would change everything.

We decided to create a Christmas party for our teachers and Guru.

Will I keep up with yoga?
Erm I think so!
Baby Kay always wanted to move her body, I’m not the slim long legged one … but the chubby cheeky one in photo 2 !
How did it start?
I always admired my sister, how graceful she was and the moves she could do. I was too young at 3yrs old to start, so while my sister was in class and my mum distracted by her studies, I would re-create the class at the back of the room on the equipment used to carry out the equipment.
The teacher decided maybe a bit dangerous, so asked my mum if I brought my kit i could join the next class.
But I was already ready, I would wear my favourite costumes under my school clothes, so I was gymnastic ready and like súper man (I remember the feeling very clearly, I popped open my school uniform to show … ta da I was ready to start now!
There were always obstacles, just remember they extra fun to climb over !
And yes that was my fav gymnastic outfit with a hippo in a ballerina outfit 😝

It may seems like such a negative, but is it really?
Inside chaos is destruction, which is the birthing ground for creation.
Like a myphlogolical phoenix, in its destruction it is reborn into something new, with new chances, opportunity,
The key is balance between control and surrender.
perspective and hope.
Chaos is hope, like a river it sometimes needs to flow chaotically, unpredictable and wild. Carving out a new path to let its energy reunite with its greater self. Fighting it, is like swimming again the current, go with the flow embrace chaos, embrace hope, embrace the flow.
Life is a natural flow, of positive and negative, sometimes we don’t grow, and that is the sadness of life, when we repeat mistakes over and over again, fighting against the flow.
The key is balance between control and surrender

It helps you feel safer in the world, there are barometers in your brain constantly scanning, tell you if the world is safe, if you are in control. This may seem trivial but there is hard scientific research that prove this will make you feel happier and more content.

Why yoga makes you happy !!
It’s like a warm hug for the whole body,
From helping you sleep better,
Easing pains,
Calms the mind,
Detoxify organs,
Feel strong,
Empowered,
Everyone feels something different.
What do you feel?
What is the secret to getting your heels down in downward dog?
The secret all yoga teachers wish you knew ? Much like life, don't try too hard in one go, but keep trying each time so practice makes perfect as the saying goes.
Here are also some tips to help find your own alignment in downward dog, as it is different for all of us, just like our bodies. Downward dog should look similar to an “V” shape or 90 degree L shape.
1. Start in downward dog, slide forward into plank pose, maybe sliding your feet further back or hand more forward.
2. Bringing your shoulders over hands, and then slide back. Try this a few time, inhaling forward into plank and exhaling back into downward dog.
3. Now come back to downward dog and do not move your feet or hands, they are now in the correct spacing.
4. To prevent your hands from sliding, grip with your fingers
* Press the tip of your fingers and back of your knuckles into the mat.
* Squeeze your pinkie finger towards your thumb and vice versa,
* do the same with all your fingers
5. Turn your gaze to your feet.
6. "Roll your shoulders away from your ears" - this sounds very bizarre but extremely normal to a yogi! So let's play with this, while in downward dog, try shrugging your shoulders back and forth until you feel yourself "rolling your shoulders away from your ears"
7. Draw the navel back towards your spine
8. If your heels are not on the ground, bend your knees (Pretty Pls)
9. Breathe all the way into your stomach, try to keep a steady breath
10. Most importantly, be patient with yourself 💖

Rome was not built in a day, and you can’t wish your fears away in a day ... however you can work a little each day to crumble away your fears, consistency grows confidence... and that in essence is what my daily yoga practice is about .

New Year, new perspective?
Here’s my top tips on creating new habits;
1 - Communicate positivity with yourself, understand what you are gaining rather than “stopping/ losing”.
2 - Be honest, most habits are based on a loop, cue, routine or reward system. Becoming aware of this, how did it even start, what are your cues, etc?
3 - Create new habits by stacking old habits on top of old habits. Eg, after a coffee I would normally smoke, instead I’ll do a 5 minute exercise physically or mentally?
4 - Write it down, research shows you are more likely to succeed if you create a plan. Use the above 3 steps to identify problem areas and a way forward, then write it down.
Don’t worry if you don’t succeed, try, try and try again ❤️ you got this 🥰
