The 2024 Oxford and Cambridge Trial Eights ๐Ÿšฃ

Tough conditions, loose seats and postponed trials made for eight dramatic races along the Championship Course for the 2024 Trial Eights. Lively wind conditions set the tone for Cambridge's trials races on 13 December, eventually shifting by the start of Oxford's races on 15 December.

The December trials are the only opportunity for the rowers, coxes, coaches and umpires to see how their squads perform in the closest simulation of the 2024 The Boat Race they can stage.

In the lead up to the trials, each university takes the top 16 rowers and 2 coxes and splits them into two evenly matched crews. Openweight and lightweight men's and women's crews race side-by-side along the iconic Putney to Mortlake course ๐Ÿ†

โ€œWomen are 7% more likely to miss a competition on their period than at any other time. Yet we still know so little about the mechanisms that underpin these differencesโ€ - GB Rowing Team athlete Kyra Edwards
