Today the Bank of England voted to reduce interest rates from 5.25% to 5%. Commenting on the decision, Kevin Shaw, our National Sales Managing Director, said:

"The reduction in interest rates announced by the Bank of England today is good news for the property industry and the millions of people wishing to move, remortgage or get onto the housing ladder after a period of uncertainty.

"LRG (our umbrella company) has seen positive trading in July, with sales figures strong and an increasing number of new applicants registering. Today’s decision is a strong indication that growth is here to stay.

"There’s lot of pent-up demand in the market after months of political uncertainty and today’s decision on rates is the starting pistol that we’ve been waiting for.

"After a good July, we look forward to an even better August and the likelihood, in many cases, of getting people into their new homes before Christmas."

We had a fantastic time celebrating the launch of our latest sustainable branch, Sovereign Harbour! We had a great turn out, and RNLI cut the ribbon. The star of the show was our unofficial office mascot Frank, a gorgeous elderly brown lab, who came along wearing a silver bow tie (Frank loves to visit daily for his biscuit!).

On Monday, a group of our employees joined Green The UK and the Royal Forestry Society - RFS at Battram Wood, Leicestershire. The day included:

🌳 a guided walk of the woodland and learning to identify tree species, plus how to tell if an ash tree was suffering from ash dieback disease
🌳 learning about the challenges our woodlands are facing due to climate change
🌳 working together to transform an overgrown area into a new educational space
🌳 planting a Malice Fiesta apple tree along the bridleway
🌳 learning how to safely light a fire in the wild using a flint and striker, plus toasting marshmallows!

It was another fantastic event to contribute to our ongoing efforts of being a carbon neutral business and looking after the planet.
