Rowans Care Centre
Rowans Care Centre is a Purpose-Built 36 Bedded Nursing Home in a Quiet Area of Macclesfield.
Yesterday we had a lovely shopping experience. The residents had a lovely time looking through the clothes and picking out some new clothes π
We began our week with bingo safe to say some of the staff are a little competitive! π
Thank you to Barbara and everyone at the church for welcoming us to the fun and friendship day we had a lovely day π
This afternoon was our pub quiz safe to say fun was had with a little alcohol, some crisps and much easier questions ! Well done to Heather and Philip who won π and Jasmine and Eddie who were a close second π
We had another fun morning of bingo luckily the prizes had just been restocked with all our favourites ! π
Today we had lots of fun with misty running around upstairs she had lots of fun jumping on the residents beds and having lots of cuddles with them all π©π
We kicked off our week with a few games of bingo ! Eyes down π
Today was our closing event ... the relay race. We got a breathe of fresh air on our speedy race, not sure how many people listened to the rules next time we need more invigilators !! The manager even gave it a go winning gold with Jean, Binas and Eileen. Silver was won by the troublesome 4 Joanne, Heather, Jaz and Jean with there dangerous tactics! Bronze was won by Adriana, Fred, Florin and Philip with their confident approach. Well done to all participants as we finished our 2024 olympics π₯π₯π₯ Winning medals wasn't the point of the Olympics. It's the participating that counts !
This afternoon we had lots of fun with our pub quiz !! Featuring general knowledge, fruit and vegetables and food quizzes the residents had a fun time with some crisps Eddie says we need a beer next time π»
This morning we tried our hand in bowling! Let's just say the carpet got a lot of blame. Peter came 1st with his speedy throw, Beattie came 2nd taking no prisoners and Jean came 3rd π³
Today was Darts.......1st for Gold was Dion, 2nd for Silver was Peter and 3rd for Bronze was Joanne they are all a little camera shy today!! Well done everyone π₯πΎπ₯β€οΈ
This afternoon was the fiercely competitive table top hockey π. Coming in first for Gold with a keen elbow is Joyce, 2nd for silver was Jean and in tight position for third receiving bronze was Eileen! Well done ladies showing the men how it is done!! π πβ€οΈ
Well it's definitely picking up the pace at our care home Olympics...this morning we held the egg and spoon race!! The winners with Gold were Beatty and Heather, 2nd with silver Jean and Jaz and coming in a close third for bronze was Fred and Adriana........anka needs longer legs!! Thanks to all who took part π πβ€οΈ
This afternoon we opened our care home Olympics with "tennis" wow was it competitive!!! The winners 1st Eddie, 2nd Fred and 3rd Eileen!! Lots of fun was had and Eileen especially enjoyed the chocolate!! π
We played the ever popular bingo this morning with lots of giggles and laughter β€οΈπ€£
Today we had a pub quiz with snacks much merriment was had and several winners!! ππ₯β€οΈ
Some lovely messages of thanks from Bollinbrook CE Primary School for using our flower beds! It was lovely to see the children having fun and the resident loved the cards and the plant!π»πΉπΌπ·β€οΈβ€οΈ

Special thanks to Macclesfield Community Tree Nursery who planted some trees at the back of our property recently....we cannot wait to see them grow πΏπ²π³π±

Thank you to our wonderful carers!! We celebrated carers week with various treats and certificates. Our activities coordinator made some yummy orange white chocolate fudge β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Happy 86th Birthday!! ......ooopppppsssss we are 10days early π€£π€£π€£π€£ oh well like our King you will have to have 2 birthdays this year Eddie!! π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π°πβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
What an afternoon!! We celebrated the marriage of our manager and maintenance operative we had the amazing Luke Stevenson Singer and wonderful food from our Head Chef Annette. The ladies wore fascinators the gentleman had button holes and the noseco flowed! Great fun was had by one and all the love train a particular favourite! π°π€΅β€οΈπΈπ
