In January 1st of 2023, I reviewed the goals I had set for myself in December 2022 and realized that simply working towards them had become monotonous.

Feeling stagnant and stuck, I knew I had to push myself out of my comfort zone and take action instead of endlessly planning for the future.

I understood that while planning is important, success is truly 80% action and 20% planning. Therefore, I embraced the idea of improvising my plan and adjusting my actions accordingly.

I realized that every obstacle in the path of success is a milestone and an opportunity to learn and grow.

Embracing the Unconventional: Finding Success Beyond Balance

Today, I wanted to share a perspective that's been on my mind lately. It might sound unconventional or even a glorification of toxic hustle culture, but humour me for just a minute !

Let's talk about the myth of "work-life balance."

The notion of achieving a perfectly balanced life is something we often hear about, but is it truly the secret to achieving greatness?

When I look at the trailblazers, the innovators, and the game-changers who have left an indelible mark on the world, I often come to a realisation that their paths were far from balanced. They were driven by passion, commitment, and an unrelenting pursuit of their goals.

Think about it, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Marie Curie – their lives were anything but balanced. They dove headfirst into their visions, pouring their energy into what they believed in. And at the cost of that great sacrifice, their impact reshaped industries, ignited progress, and inspired generations.

So, maybe it's time to challenge the notion of balance as the ultimate goal. Perhaps, for those who truly want to leave their mark beyond their time, it's about embracing the imbalances that come with pushing boundaries and making a difference. It's okay if our lives are a bit of a juggling act right now. In fact, that might just be the sign that we’re onto something big.
