Think Hive Psychotherapy. Proactively addressing Mental Health & Wellbeing
Did you know that today is World Hello Day?
Who knew we needed a day like this in the calendar? But if you stop to think about it, how often do you go out of your way to truly connect and say "Hello" to those around you?
The pace of life means that it's more common for us to rush around, perhaps missing opportunities to connect to our loved ones during day to day routines, and certainly in broader life settings like doing our weekly shop, we just want to get in and out. We've taken for granted what a simple yet effective greeting can really do for us.
Take a look at some of these reasons to say "Hello" to someone today.
Like, share and comment. We'd love to know your thoughts :)
And if no one has said it to you today, Hello!
Today is International Men's day.
Let's take a couple of minutes to remind ourselves of the importance of Men's Mental Health.

Thursday Thrive Bite: Brain MOT.
Looking out for signs that your brain needs a check-in and an MOT undertaking.
We might notice the 'engine management' sign going off for our brain, indicating that something just isn't right, and something needs taking care of.
When was the last time you stopped, reflected on your wellbeing, and carried out that MOT?
Whilst summarising a clients key achievements from therapy last week, it felt like we touched on every single one of these points.
By learning to detach, or ‘defuse’ from multiple areas of life or present difficulties that she was facing, she had gained a greater sense of control than what she had experienced in decades.
Control of her own processes, rather than a continuous focus on those which she actually could never control regardless of how much energy she put in to trying to. This was incredibly free’ing for her, reducing her anxiety significantly and providing a clarity of the rewards and values of her life as it is.

Thursday Thrive Bite-Dropping the anchor.
We experience challenging thoughts and feelings on a regular basis in our life's journey. Sometimes there isn't much we can do and in those moments what we need to focus on is grounding ourselves and waiting for some of that storm to pass.
Dropping the anchor can be the skill that helps us in those moments.
Give it a go and let us know what you think.
Thursday Thrive Bite is here!
Today we focus on expanding life outside of our challenges.
Sometimes we can get stuck by trying to solve some of the issues or challenges we experience. Sometimes we need to be focusing on living a valued life, despite the challenges.
What does this look like?
It’s national work life week and I’ve been thinking about the patterns we see in clients facing Burnout, work stress and low self esteem. At the core there is so often a sense of not being good enough and needing to try harder, even if that is at a sacrifice to other parts of life. This isn’t true. We have to work to change this out dated narrative.

Mental health is essential.
Learning to be proactive with your mental health starts from an early age.
Well done to bringing awareness to the importance of this.
What are some of the missed signs of decreased well-being levels that can be overlooked but ultimately lead to depression.
Taking a more proactive approach to our well-being can ultimately lead to a preventative approach to managing well-being levels.
Our final segment on for todays
There are so many different types of we could outline but the overall point is that used too frequently they can have a profound and unhelpful effect on how we feel and behave. Being able to recognise what our own sound like and choose to consider if they're helpful or unhelpful to us, is a skill that influences mood management significantly.
Who else struggles to engage their kids in conversations on "how was your day today" after school?
Surely, can't just be me? can it?
Being specific with the questions around emotions that can be experienced throughout the day is very useful.
Normalising the buffet of emotions, normalising how we can have a starter of one, quickly move on to the main of another emotion and desert of a third.
Let's not forget the mini snacks of moods too throughout the day.
Let's teach our kids to acknowledge their emotions and how quickly they can change, whether it feels positive or negative.
Acknowledge and accept.
📢 It’s that time of the week again! Our Thursday today continues to explore and identify different types of cognitive distortions.
Whilst they seem innocent individually, if we’re in a habit of thinking in these terms frequently, we accidentally influence a negative spiral of seeing things in skewed ways, and consequently feeling bad and responding unhelpfully.
The first step, is noticing that we do them at all!
Let us know what distortions you are noticing in yourself.
Being proactive with our well-being can have a huge impact on our overall health.
We have used our years of education, training, and experience to create some proactive resources to use on a regular basis.

Thursday Week 2!
This week, we are continuing to recognise 'Cognitive distortions' aka Thinking errors.
Today we focus on personalising and bringing our awareness to when we carry out this thinking error.
Do you ever personalise situations?
Thursday starts here!
Every Thursday we’ll be sharing a simple piece of therapy skill or knowledge that is easy and useful for all to apply.
This week, learning to recognise ‘Cognitive distortions’ aka. Thinking errors. We all use them, but being able to recognise them can make the difference between being able to take a step back and reassess, vs, spiralling into and
We can categorise the types of thinking error we’re using, such as which can simplify learning to notice them as they occur.
Do you use mind reading? Look out for further information on cognitive distortions and future thrive bites!

How do we cultivate more wellbeing in the work environment.
Take a look at some of the suggestions below.
Today is World Mental Health day.
We have come along so far already with recognition of mental health, the value of mental health and the ways in which to improve and treat it.
However, we still have so much more progress go make. We need to foster and create an environment of easy open discussion without judgement and stigma and a society in which mental health is just as important as physical health.
There is now so much research highlighting psychosomatic symptoms of mental health however we still have a too common attitude of "grin and bear it" and brushing over it.
We need to be creating a norm of "checking-in" with ourselves of how are we doing.
Mental Health is for everyone, it is a continuum and if the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that mental health is Resilient.
Think Hive
Today is the start of national worklife week.
We at Think Hive value all things work balance and wellbeing related.
We will be posting some top tips throughout the week in Celebration.
How reflectibe have you been lately?
On a day like today where the weather is amazing but amazingly hot with weather alerts we all have taken precautions to ensure we don't fry and look after ourselves and our loved ones.
We have actively thought about the weather, and how we will cope with it.
Paddling pools out, sunscreen, lots of fluids, fans, staying indoors at peak heat times, lots of thoughts and plans for our physical wellbeing. The weather has been a fantastic reminder for us to connect with our physical needs.
But how about our mental health?
Have we come across any reminders to reflect on our mental health and wellbeing and apply that "sunscreen" to our minds?
Reflective is effective.

It's been a while!

Webbing Wednesday:
Today we focus on bringing awareness to our triggers and learning to ‘webb’ them to the experiences we notice when we ‘tune in’ to our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
What is it that’s causing you to have those self-critical thoughts? What is triggering that headache? What tasks have you been working on? What meetings have you had? How supported have you felt? How competent have you felt? What self-doubt have you experienced? What external factors have influenced you?
Once we can understand what is causing us to feel our highs and lows in our work environment, we can start working on opening the door to micro-changes to benefit our wellness in work.
Lets put some pen to paper and start webbing it out.
