Skin purging is completely normal and is when the rate of skin’s cellular turnover (aka the speed at which new, healthy cells reach the surface of the skin) is increased.

This can push old, dead cells - along with excess sebum and build up that comes with them - to the surface, clogging pores and causing breakouts.

Allow me to re-introduce you to something that I feel every Mum needs in there little box of tricks. This is Tropic’s Tamanu Balm and it’s a multipurpose balm that I find myself reaching for all of the time.

Here are just a few reasons why I love using it on my whole family.

🌿 Dry/irritated skin and eczema - Often during this cold weather, Isabelle will get red, chapped sores around her mouth which sometimes cracked. She is more than happy to pop this on before bedtime and will wake up and the sores are more or less gone.

With Andys job, he regularly get very dry, cuts hands too…he has a pot of this in his van!

🌿 I use Tamanu as a lip balm as my lips are so dry…works an absolute treat!!

🌿 This little pot of goodness accelerates skin healing…so when the children take a tumble, it’s the first thing we reach for.

🌿 Eyebrow waxing…yes, I use it for the aftercare of waxing too!!

It’s so multifunctional. Grazed knees, scarring, tattoo healing, dribble rash…the list is endless.
