We are thrilled to announce that the PAMHS Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital has won the Art Installation of the Year Award at the Design in Mental Health Awards 2024!
 
In collaboration with GOSH Arts and artist Giles Round, the team transformed a disused ward into a functional, welcoming, and inspiring space for children, young people, and their families.

Last Friday afternoon, our commercial team traded laptops for LEGO bricks to take their architectural knowledge to the next level...
 
We found out that several of our team are scarily competitive as the afternoon went on and that building with Lego, is a messy job.
 
Is there any other way to spend a Friday than picking up Lego bricks off the floor? We don’t think so!
 

The materials chosen on our projects can dramatically change the outcome of any project.

The choice of materials does not only define the structural possibilities but also determines the character of the building and how all end users will experience the space.

Our team have recently undertaken several workshops as part of the new Withington Community Diagnostic Centre to ensure the materials fit the client’s specifications whilst also maximising the user experience, creating an environment that promotes healing and well-being, every material decision influences the functionality, durability, and emotional impact of a space.

     

The new state-of-the-art theatre complex at Clatterbridge Hospital is now operational, offering four new operating theatres which can now treat up to 6000 additional patients each year.
 
The theatre complex offers 4 Theatres and Recovery residing within a two-storey modular building.
 
In addition, it offers 12 first-stage recovery bays, ancillary spaces including clean/dirty utility rooms and stores, staff support spaces including a nurse base, write-up and emergency response areas.

The new Psychological & Mental Health Services Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital is home to both outpatient and inpatient services that treat children from the ages of 7-14 for a range of mental health disorders.

The re-design better accommodates operational needs and creates a welcoming, inspiring and safe environment for children and young people and their families.

The therapeutic interior approach has consistently taken precedence in the design philosophy, striking a delicate balance between playfulness and domestic comfort, adhering to the guidelines of a mental health unit.

         

The former Park Hotel in Preston is proposed to be transformed to deliver 65 Apartment/Hotel rooms, restoring the historic building to its former glory.

In addition to this comes the renovation of the Listed East Cliff Georgian House into 6 x luxury apartments along with 2 blocks of new-build apartments, proposed to sit sensitively within the site whilst complementing the existing materials and architecture of the Park Hotel.

Over the past few days we have been undertaking a number of walkthroughs with the wider DAY Teams at the new GMMTH over at Salford Royal.

The new Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital houses Europe’s first RAPTOR Theatre, with the DAY team playing a major role in this truly cutting-edge development. Speaking to our colleagues at DAY PM, we got some great insight into how the team has facilitated the installation of this state-of-the-art equipment.
