We would like to share an appreciation post today. On Saturday 27th July, Whalley Range AFC held a charity football match in memory of their friend and team mate, Joey Kinsella. Joey passed away unexpectedly last year and became an organ donor hero.

His friend, Lyndsey, organised special t shirts and caps to be made and sold for the event and Joey's family choose our lovely charity to benefit from the sales. A wonderful donation of over £600 has been made and we are sincerely grateful to everyone involved.

We send our very best wishes to Joey's family and friends 💜

British Transplant Games - Manchester Children's Team 2024
Thank you to everyone who organised, supported, participated, volunteered and cheered at this years British Transplant Games in Nottingham.
Kidneys for Life are delighted to support this wonderful team of children and their families who have all had kidney transplants at The Royal Manchester Children's hospital. This event is a wonderful time and proves there is hope, fun, excitement and optimism after transplant.

We are very grateful to IMT Medical Transport Ltd who provided hugely valuable transport for the team and volunteers. The whole team is unbelievably helpful and accommodating and we send them our sincere thanks.

Please help us support these children and their families for many years to come by fundraising and getting involved 💜

Tomorrow is the start of the wonderful British Transplant Games where extraordinary people come together to take part in a very special occasion.

To begin this wonderful week we would like to say Good Luck to Joshua and Ben who are leaving this week to complete the Mount Toubkal challenge with .

Trekking for three days they will experience stunning scenery, breathtaking views across North Africa and the warmth and friendliness of locals during this fantastic charity challenge.

Life has changed very little for the Berber people of this region and they be lucky enough to witness first hand their culture and lifestyle as we discover the real Morocco.

We look forward to sharing their adventures when they return 😃

If the oxygen content of the blood falls, the kidneys can sense that as well. Once the kidneys sense a lack of oxygen, they create a hormone which triggers increased production of red blood cells. RBCs are responsible for carrying oxygen. As RBC count increases, the oxygen content of the blood also increases.

KFL Skydive Day 2025

Skydiving – the ultimate adrenaline rush!! Sign up TODAY and become part of our Kidneys for Life 2025 Skydive team!

A tandem skydive is the best way to experience free-fall and get a taste of this extreme sport – you’ll free-fall down to 5,000ft at 120mph – that’ll clear the cobwebs! From there you’ll float to the ground and the instructor will control the landing.

The Skydive takes place on 27th April 2025 at Black Knights Parachute Centre near Lancaster.

All training is given on the day and then when you’re all kitted up you’ll jump out of the plane at 10,000ft (that’s an amazing 2 miles high), harnessed to a British Parachute Association instructor.

As we head towards the weekend we'd love to remind you of our Kidneys for Life Sunday Lunch on October 6th at The Delta Hotels by Marriott Worsley Park Country Club. Happy Friday and a HUGE Good luck to everyone who is taking part in our SOLD OUT Snowdon: Sea to Summit Challenge tomorrow.

The team are heading there today to begin their challenge in the morning which consists of a bike ride to Snowdon on the country paths, then swapping the bike for boots to climb up and down Snowdon then finally, a 2.5mile loop on a kayak to finish the day off. This challenge is expected to take around 8 to 9 hours total time!

The team of 20 includes Mr Tavakoli, KFL Chair of Trustees along with transplant families and fantastic supporters.

Thank you so much to all 130 supporters who completed the famous Morecambe Bay walk on Sunday!

The weather was kind and the walk exciting! Under the watchful eye of Guide over Sands Trust the team successfully completed the walk and fully experienced the sand moving beneath us 😃

Thank you so much to everyone who fundraised in aid of KFL on the walk, with money still coming in we are extremely grateful to you all for your very generous support.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to book places next year and as soon as we know we will let everyone else know how you can join us 💜
