🗣️🗣️🗣️Next up in The Creative Sessions series we have the lovely running a session on sustainable DIY fashion.

Amelie will be running a session on making items out of repurposed leather.

Amelie has been accessory designer for the last 10 years and had the chance to work for and with brands in the UK, US and France. During this time, she couldn’t ignore all the leather left aside for different reason such as wrinkles on the skins, changing pattern or colour on the skin and the leftover, the forgotten. For the last few years she has created her own fashion accessory brand using those skins to reduce waste and help people to love those natural imperfections.
Last year she started to run workshops to allow anyone to make their own leather accessories.
She is passionate about fashion, design and being able to share this with students, adults, kids, and found this to be be really rewarding.

What an amazing first session to launch ✨The Creative Sessions yesterday ✨

We welcomed the dynamic duo to the studio space at the to run a DJ Basics Session. The group learned simple CDJ beat matching and mixing, setting cue points, recordbox & controller usage.

Massive thank you to everyone that attended and a big thank you to our Session Coordinator Assistants, Luz and Heather for their mega help setting up , throughout the session and closing down the space.

Meet The Creative Sessions Coordinator Assistants who will be helping our facilitators across the programme with their individual sessions and generally making sure that everything runs efficiently and safely.

LUZ ( ) ~

Luz (they/she) is a creative producer, multidisciplinary artist and DJ based in Manchester. In their work as a producer they focus on the administration and organisation of projects with special attention to access, inclusion and sustainability, and they have trained in creative project management and production with a varied cohort of industry professionals at Factory Academy and its partner organisations within the cultural sector.

In their creative practice, they platform q***r and migrant music, stories and identities through collaborative choreography and community dance (HEARTH, La Nagualita), radio broadcast (Traketeo on Steam Radio, Reform Radio) and performing highly danceable DJ sets across a great variety of Manchester’s nightlife spaces.

HEATHER ( ) ~

Heather currently is a TV and Radio production student at Salford! Outside of uni she has been gaining some work experience helping out as runner to becoming more experienced working at events and meeting some lovely people along the way!

NEXT UP… from our creative learning programme Artz Academy Workshop Sessions we have… “The Event Series” w / Shaan Ebanks ( )

Shaan is an established Event Producer having worked for the likes of Coca-Cola, Nintendo, Campari on Events across the globe. Shaan's experience sits within Festivals, Brand Launches, Parties and Theatrical Events. Currently Shaan is working for London's Immersive agency The Department. Having recently moved to Manchester from the big smoke Shaan has quickly become involved in the Q***r Culture of Manchester and regularly works on a variety of Manchester based events like &

Shaan is known for his high-octane and energetic work... and this will not be any different.
2 Teams will battle it out in an Apprentice style game show workshop to put on the best event. This hands-on workshop will give attendees a whistlestop tour of what it takes to put on an event and it wouldn't be an event if they weren't doing it under pressure.
