“The bank holiday and Summer may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean the celebrations have to end! This sparkling cremant offers all the fun of champagne but at a fraction of the price (will be kind on all those empty wallets). Made by an ex Champagne producer this bottle gives delish bready notes - fresh baguettes smeared with good French unsalted butter and apricot jam. Apple compote, sugared almonds, ripe melon and delicately toasty notes that carry through to the palate with butterscotch and candied lemon and hint of vanilla cream, orange zest and long biscuit-accented finish. Zero dosage - a blend of 63% Chardonnay, 25% Chenin Blanc, 12% Pinot.”

“I chose this wine as, besides the gorgeous label, it’s history is wonderful! It’s born from a vineyard in Le Corbier, Languedoc in 1914, just before the first world war; after all the soldiers flew to fight the women were left to fend for the vineyard themselves, the Cellier de Memoiselles is a tribute to these hardworking girls and their delectable wine!

Beautifully oaked in French barrels for 14 months, with silky notes of dark chocolate, blackberries, strawberrry and vanilla this blend of Grenache and Syrah is a lovely heavy bodied smooth easy drinker that’s goes tastily with game and a roast dinner.”
