What a great feeling when this happens.

My first ever Mothers Day as your mama, son.
Most of my adult life I felt I had something missing, I always strived for the next achievement l, the next holiday, the next big accomplishment, and even after everything I always had this niggling feeling like I wasn’t “finished yet”... always had that “what’s next” internal drive....
Then after getting engaged your dadda and I made the decision to try for a family, and the overwhelming feeling I had of “complete” to feel you wriggling and growing inside me I thought was unsurpassable. Until I gave birth to you and you were finally here.
Every second of every day that I look at you I’m engulfed in pride and a love I didn’t even know was even possible. Gone are the feelings of “what’s missing”... and instead I have new feelings of “what can I do for YOU, my dear baby boy. What can I do to help you be and have the best of everything?” Now my “what’s next” is replaced with “what’s the next accomplishment I can help YOU achieve. What’s the next accomplishment I can achieve to help YOU”.
My heart has never felt so full, and I have never felt so blessed.
I am the luckiest person alive.

When the photographer is immense!!!!

Finally!!!!! I’ve found some shops that do form fitting, and “pretty” maternity/nursing bras and clothes.


All the way through this pregnancy everything on offer has been slouchy, drapey, parachute-with-arm-holes, and non-nursing friendly for when I finally give birth. I plan on breast feeding, and also hate clothing waste so have never intended on splashing out on clothes that are either maternity or nursing friendly only.... why not BOTH??

I’m also proud of my baby bump!! And super proud of this miracle that my body is capable of creating!! So have no intentions of hiding it away under some baggy shapeless tunic that will have me resembling Nelson’s Column, rather than a blossoming mother-to-be.

I finally found some pretty wrap-over floral tops from new look, along with some bump friendly leggings (why on Earth do people think those elastic bands on “bump-trousers” would be comfy above or below your bump?? Have the designers ever actually been pregnant?? To have that thick or thin strip digging into your already sensitive, stretching, and itchy skin is near on torture!)

And don’t even get me started on the maternity bras.
Plain. Wire-free. Cross over sportsbra-esque styles do NOT sit well with women (who even prior to pregnancy) have been above an E cup.
I do NOT want my perky double Gs being crushed against my own rib cage by the sheer masses of wrap over material, creating a hot, sweaty, painful, and chafing environment. Especially whilst they’re already particularly tender!!!

Ann Summers have stepped up and in as my life saver and confidence booster!!! Offering a supportive uplifting, lacey, pretty, yet functional alternative with a magnetic clasp, for easy one handed nursing, once my baby is here.
Offering a “flexi-wire” option, so I’m still offered room to grow, whilst still being fully supportive!!! I salute you Ann Summers!! I bought one in every bloody colour and three pairs of knickers for each to match!! I’m now binning my whole underwear drawer, as I imagine I shall only be wearing these sets in going forward.

Is your best friend really your best friend if she doesn’t bring you a Maccies breakfast randomly to cheer you up, after a week of hell??
