We are excited to report that over the next few days we shall be updating our computer management system. This will allow us to better support our growing practice and make our quality of service even better. Unfortunately, this may mean there are a few teething problems along the way as we transition to the new system - please bear with us!
If we could ask that all routine telephone calls to the clinic, that can wait, are delayed until next week when we are fully set up to receive them. Anyone wishing to make a payment might find it easier online, e.g. via BACS or through our website payment service. Requests for emergency visits day and night will be unaffected and please do call if required. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may briefly cause but we’re sure this will be of huge benefit to the care we are able to provide in the future. Thank you.
Welcome to our newest member of our team, Lily! ☺️ As one of our technicians she will be supporting the vets both at the clinic and on the yards. She is a keen show jumper, competing most weekends, on her 15 year old ISH Daisy 🦄 As well as backing and producing young horses! Great to have you onboard Lily 🤩🤩

That HY-50 feeling! 🐎💨
We are so pleased to see little Timothy feeling fantastic following medication of his stifles due to struggling with upward fixating patella (locking stifles).
HY-50 contains hyaluronic acid, and is a great alternative to steroids for joint medications in horses and ponies at risk of laminitis.
Usually for performing joint injections on the yard we ask for a clean, dry area out of the wind, such as a wash stall or a stable with the bedding swept out of the way. As you can see from the photo in the comments, Timothy’s owner went one step beyond this and said Jess and Meg could bring him all the way into the kitchen!
When your horse mixes with others from outside his usual social circle, such as at a competition. it's a prime opportunity for disease to be passed on. Not only is he at risk of catching a disease, but there's also the chance that he may pass one on, too.
Vet Philip Ivens from Buckingham Equine Vets shares the signs and symptoms you should be checking for before taking your horse to a competition or other equine gathering. If he's showing any of these, don't travel him and make sure to contact your vet.
