Happy father's day to all, I have even managed to sneak a cheeky game of golf in πββοΈ
Well he only went and done it!
It was literally blood, sweat and tears. Exhaustion hit a good few times but he pushed through and thoroughly deserved his prized possession, well done π₯π
Videos to follow.
6.30am ready for Matteo's shodan (1st Dan) black belt gradingπ₯
These gradings are not to be taken lightly, they are 4hrs long and take a huge amount of dedication and practice.
Good luck and see you on the other side.
OSS π
At some point in the near future we will be getting our assistant instructor Mark (black belt in jiu-jitsu) to give us a masterclass on ground work.
Ideally we don't want to be on the floor in a fight, but if we did, we will be well prepared ππ₯
An early kata training session with this guy this morning, all in preparation for his black belt grading next Saturday (6.30am start π¬) π₯
Awesome work π
Some light kumite work that's gone on this week π₯
We split the students into 2 groups and each side had a combination they had to try and use to gain the upper hand on their opponent. Great fun this, and with fantastic results.
Can anyone guess what one of the combinations was π
Very pleased to announce that we have retained our 'Safeguarding code' for another year with Safeguarding Code
This means we have good practices in place to keep all our students including adults safe and their wellbeing at the top of our priorities. Our safeguarding procedures can be found on our website:
[email protected]" rel="ugc" target="_blank">[email protected]
Please also take note, our safeguarding officer Ceridwen is always on hand to all students for any concerns children or adults may have.
The Dragons also looked like they loved getting stuck in tonight, great engagement, well done all π
And a huge thanks to Donna Williamson at Wren Training for coming down tonight to show our 2 groups some essential first aid. We loved having you down π
The Tigers were in full swing with their first aid training tonight!
Now the Dragons turn to get stuck in βοΈβοΈ
πSummer camp registration is now open!
Limited to 30 places π
Another fun week coming up for the Tigers and Dragons, on Tuesday we have Wren Training coming in for some interactive first aid for them all βοΈπ
Don't forget, a super fun session tonight for the Dragons with LV-Fitness π
On the 9th of May we have a very exciting lesson planned for the Dragons π
We are pleased to have LV-Fitness come in and take a session for them.
Liz at LV Fitness is a fitness trainer and provides fitness for children, young people and families to help support emotional and physical wellbeingπ¨βπ©βπ¦βπ¦ with 1 2 1 sessions also available.
In the session, Liz will do a small circuit style workout and some fun active games to engage the children in fun exercise.
The circuit style workout will have different stations using a mix of bodyweight exercises and the use of light weights.
This type of training absolutely goes hand in hand with Karate so we are very much looking forward to it π
πMorning, please remember no training tonight due to the church needing to use the hall
The Tigers last where honing in on there punches last night. We worked on some reaction and accuracy work with the small pads, and also hitting through a moving target plus some fan favourite board breaking π₯
2 more students who unfortunately couldn't make Sunday's grading... π₯
A fantastic effort from both brother and sister, you are both progressing brilliantly π

A late post tonight, but we had another epic grading and it was for our very own safeguarding officer.
She absolutely smashed it, a solid 50minutes of sweat, grit and determination. A huge well done π π₯
And that's a wrap, each and everyone who attended today's grading smashed it.
It truely was a fantastic grading and effor levels were out of this world. Massive congratulations to you all ππ₯
We even created a new half grade belt for one our purple belts π
Morning all, we're ready! Good luck everyone π
It's always nice to bump into fellow students on an evening out in our natural environment, and especially when you recognise the hoodie first before you realise who it is π πΈ
And this concludes the last of the Tigers grading, these 3 little superstars smashed it π€
Our 2 new orange belts now also move up a group! This was a brilliant grading, a lot of hard work was put in by them all π₯
With the Tigers well into their grading season, it was broke up a little with some sprawling, they do enjoy this exercise π₯π
π₯Tigers grading pt2π₯
And the gradings continue, a step up in difficultly but they all did so well! π
And we have officially kicked off grading season with the Tigers pt1! π
Fantastic gradings all round showing an amazing spirit. You all look great in your new belts ππ₯
If there's one feeling I love more than anything it's feeling like a white belt again! This seminar with the '3 Amigos' made me feel just that π₯
It's important that everyone knows that I am still learning and to bring other students on the same journey, learning new things at the same time is super special π
Becoming a black belt is NOT the end goal, it only proves you are ready to really understand the next step of the journey.
For those who could not make it, I only hope you jump at the chance to attend the next one. It will open your eyes to much more π
Oooh, we have lots to learn in the coming weeks π
Happy Sunday, hope you all enjoy a relaxing day just like these guys did sitting down on the job on Thursday ππ
Meanwhile myself and Ceridwen head off for our seminar π
Happy international women's day! π€
We are super proud to have an abundance of amazing female's, all amazing and just fanrastic at what they do π₯
