What a brilliant exam day.

So many smiles from students both before and after exams and that's what it is all about.

The examiner commented how much she enjoyed everyone's dancing today, Miss Jenny felt very proud of you all, you have all worked so hard.

Pease remember the following
⭐️You must arrive 30 mins prior to your exam dressed ready (Please don't come earlier or later as their won't be space/the exams won't wait if running earlier).
⭐️Only 1 adult with each student due to very very restricted waiting space
⭐️NO HAIRSPRAY OR AEROSOLS IN THE BUILDING AT ALL
⭐️No nuts or peppers to be eaten or opened in the building
⭐️Please come in through the back entrance to the buding- you come around via the small path down the right of the building
⭐️Please keep the waiting area as quiet as possible as we don't want to disturb those in exams.
⭐️Smile and enjoy the experience, you have worked so hard to get to this point.

We want to say break a leg to out fabulous assistant Miss Charlotte Halls who has her Uni dance show tonight and tomorrow night.

We had an brilliant last rehearsal yesterday for Miss Charlotte's Intermediate Contemporary Modern Jazz exam.

We are looking forward to seeing all our exam dancers on Saturday as the work is looking great.

It takes dedication to get ready for grade exams as there is lots to remember for each grade and you have all worked so hard. We have dancers going in for their first ever rosettes all the way up to students taking intermediate grades.

🎅Santa is taking orders now for F.I.S.D.A.C. branded zip up hoodies. (pink or blue available). He also can make the FISDAC T-shirts too (blue for infants and juniors and blue or pink for seniors)🎅

If anyone wants to order one in time for him to deliver it on Christmas morning he needs to have the request by next Friday at the latest.

Miss Jenny is again at a parents eve 3.30-3.40 tonight. she will get to dance ASAP but please do wait about If you get there before her for the first acro class.

We have had a lovely term at dance.

Please remember dancing is now closed for a week (unless you have extra exam practice). We hope you all have a brilliant week off.

Here our some pics of our fabulous twinkle toes practicing their fairy balances- our youngest students have all settled so well into class and are doing amazing at learning new skills each week.

Well done to Junior Cheer who last night learnt some stunts in new groupings. We did this kneeling star and then one higher too but sadly I forgot to take a picture of that one (sorry).

We had such lovely fun with the new wings in preparatory ballet tonight and our primaries are loving the hat shop dance in their grade too.

We have been practicing our partner/group work at Acro and Cheer this week.
Well done to all-many of these students were flyers/bases for the first time last night and they did great in their new partners/stunt groups. I can't wait to see how these skills progress in the next few weeks.

Tonight we only have 1 helper instead of my usual 2.
To help with toilet trips we are asking if all parents could remain in the waiting area outside of the class room today so you could take your child to the loo if they need to go. We will be back to 2 teaching assistants next week as usual.

Daisy starts her extra training today at York Dance Scholars in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary. We wish her all the luck for this year's training and are super proud of Daisy for auditioning and gaining a place here .

We also send good luck wishes to Ollie who is spending another year doing extra training each saturday with Charge Boys too.

🎭⭐️Stage stars- Musical Theatre class for 4-7 year olds (reception to year 2). Still the last few spaces available if anyone wishes to join us 4.45-5.15pm on a Thur.🎭⭐️

A fun filled class where we sing, dance, play drama games and more. (All abilities welcome, no experience needed).

I love that our Cheer classes are so popular.

With Pom dances, flexibility, small amounts of Acro and stunting too we can see the appeal.
Team work plays a huge part in these classes-something our much increased senior team did brilliant with last night.

One space remains in our junior class for a dancer aged 7-11 (school years 3-6)

We had a lovely first evening back at dance yesterday. Lots of work on posture and placement in our ballet classes.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tonight including lots of new starters.

Please remember when you come to dancing to enter the main double doors then turn left and wait until your class in this corridor (the toilets are also here).

Please have dance shoes on ready where possible and bring any in you need to change into (even all twinkle toes this year!- we will change them in our room).

Children will be picked up at the other door to the right as you come in at the end of their classes to avoid a bottle neck. Please ensure you are prompt at pickup as our classes run back to back so we need to get back to teaching as soon as possible.

Parents dropping off and collecting at end is fine; No parents allowed in the dancing room itself.
If you are waiting for the duration of the lesson you can wait in the right hand corridor-sometimes the back room but this will depend on days and space available. (The back room is accessed by going down the right corridor and through jigsaw room-there is No eating allowed in either rooms!)

(Twinkle Toes parents need to wait in the back room to be able to assist with toilet trips if they need it).

We had a super fun morning today at out Musical Theatre Holiday club. Sorry for the lack of pictures- too busy playing games, dancing and singing away.

This group of students worked so well together and were super well behaved it was such a lovely holiday club to run.

Come and join us singing, dancing, crafting and playing games all whilst having fun and developing our skills.
