RSPCA Rothbury Shop
This shop provides invaluable funds to the local RSPCA Northumberland West Branch
Sometimes we advertise animals on this page who may need that additional help in finding their forever home. Sadly Gina is one such dog. Please could you share and help us find a new life for this loving girl.
Gina is such a lovely girl and has been with us for far too long.
Gina needs a home preferably with someone who lives on their own. This is because she tends to bond with just one person in the household which compromises any other relationship with other family members. A quiet home with an older person could be ideal. Gina will need to be the only animal in the house no children
She will need time to settle in and learn that it is okay to be left for short periods and so will need someone who is around for most of the time. Gina can be a little strong on the lead and is usually okay passing other dogs. She would be really happy with a nice garden where she can plod around with her human.
Poor Gina has had several homes and sadly it has not worked out due to her forming a strong bond with just one person in the house. We are looking for a home in the Northumberland area where our re homing officer can take her out to her new home and work with a potential adopter. It is therefore essential she has a home within a reasonable distance from Hexham.
Gina will make a lovely loyal companion and it is so sad that she remains in kennels. Gina just needs that opportunity now - she so deserves it.

Just a reminder about our Christmas cards which are for sale in the shop - £3.50 for a pack of 10. A great way to support a wonderful cause whilst keeping in touch with those you care about. Please call in to have a look and hopefully stock up.
We have a great range of menswear. Please call in to have a look. Your next winter warmer awaits.
Take a look at our warm and inviting children’s corner. Full of clothes, books and toys for the discerning young shopper. We have school uniform for £1 a piece.
A frosty morning is probably a good time to announce that the shop will start selling our new range of Christmas cards from Saturday. The designs will appeal and the cost of £3.50 for 10 is great value and there is no increase from last year.
We are going to be at this fantastic event. We will be following the theme of Green Christmas once again. Come and stock up early for the festive season whilst saving items from landfill, supporting a worthwhile cause and saving yourself money. We look forward to seeing you there.
Here is a gorgeous Sunday morning reminder of why your support is so important to us - donations, purchases or spreading the word. This is a sneak preview of the lovely animals who have recently arrived into our care and are in the process of being advertised. Of course we have more who are still waiting patiently to be rehomed.
Thank you once again.
We have such a large and compelling collection of books - paperbacks are just £1 and hardbacks are £2. Perfect for those lazy days in the sunshine. What could be better?
Our shop is looking lovely with lots of wonderful stock. Please come in to have a look around to pick up a bargain or just treat yourself. We would love to see you.
We are running low on bric a brac at the moment. Please think about us if you are having a sort out. Donations of bric a brac or any other type of donation gratefully received. Please note that we don’t take in electricals.
Please share where you can and also click on the photo for further details of the incredibly handsome Gary who is looking for a home and who benefits from donations we receive.
Gary is about one or 2 years old.
He came to us after being attacked by a dog. Because of this he was a little shy to start with but now his confidence has grown. It still takes him a little time to relax. Gary loves his humans and cuddles. Also because of the attack he does have a little limp, but he has been checked out by the vets and given the all clear. He loves a good head and chin scratch and will cry if you walk past him without at least saying hello.
Gary would be best suited in a quieter home, preferably no children but may be okay with teenagers. No dogs. He might be able to live with another calm cat.
For enquiries, please contact us on either 07872 041733 or 07519 876 789
Are there any Val McDermid fans? Or even those of you who might be curious as to why she is so popular. We have been lucky enough to have received a fantastic donation of her books. Please call in and take your pick. Every one of them a page turner.
You may remember the fantastic fundraiser one of our supporters, Bernadette, undertook recently. Rolo is an example of how she helped the Branch. This gorgeous boy is now looking for a home.
Here are some of the animals our shop helps. We (and they) appreciate every customer, every donation and every kind comment.
Here is our fantastic window celebrating 200 years of the RSPCA and it’s work for animal welfare. The Branch is a separate charity but we, too, work tirelessly for the animals - rehabilitating and rehoming many brought to us in need. Our Branch is 115 years old and the wonderful shop in Rothbury has been open since 2008. Please call in to say hello and have a look around. It means a lot to us.
Thank you! We raised £1500 from Crowdfunding and donations in the shop as a result of Bernadette’s fantastic Coast to Coast walk in May. The appeal is now closed and the funds raised will help us to continue to look after and rehome the animals in our care. The Branch is touched and grateful at the efforts and kindness of all involved. Here is Bernadette receiving a big thank you from Polo (now Rolo) who is a dog with us who has undergone recent surgery and is hopefully on the road to recovery. Rolo represents the animals in our care and Bernadette represents the kindness of our supporters and customers. Thank you once again.
We have the books of many authors in the shop. We have just received a lovely donation of Agatha Christie novels. Please call in and have a look for your next read.
This morning (about 11.30-12 midday) we are excited to inform you that we have 2 special guests of honour in the shop. Bernadette who walked a staggering 192 miles to raise money for the Branch will be meeting Polo, one of our dogs who requires (and still needs) extensive veterinary treatment. We cannot wait to see them together. If you are in Rothbury, please pop into the shop. It would be wonderful to see you.
Bernadette has done it it!! She has completed the Coast to Coast today and in glorious sunshine. Bernadette has raised money for the Branch and therefore the animals. We are so grateful to her and also to everyone who has supported her by donating or just by taking an interest.
