Northern English Springer Spaniel Rescue is a spaniel rescue in the UK. Registered Charity No. 1121569 and a Charity Registered In Scotland No. SC0400
Milly went off to her new home this morning. Thanks everyone for your applications ☺️ be happy little poppet, we're going to miss you an awful lot! ❤️
NESSR will be having a stall at this event! First one we've done in a while so please pop along and see us if you are in the area. Looks like there's plenty to entertain the whole family!
Milly has been for her 2nd vaccination this morning, she's put in a kilo in weight and the vets were pleased with her progress. We're starting to go through the applications for her, so if you're interested there's still time. You can find all details on our website at www.nessr.org 🥰
Buddy and Milly having a tug of war! Guess who won! 🤣
Everyone please say hello to Buddy! He's a 19 month old springador, and has come into rescue because his owner didn't have time for him. He's an active boy, so a home that is very active is required, and he's also very bouncy so kids over 8 only. He needs some further training but he's a smashing lad and will make someone a fantastic pet. Size wise he's a big springer or small lab, just under 18kg. He's not cat tested and travels well in the car. He's been an only dog but would love a doggy companion to play with.
If you think you can offer this lovely boy a home please fill in our application form at www.nessr.org
He is being fostered in Co Durham and you will be expected to travel to meet him. A successful homecheck and donation will apply.
We are running low on flea and wormers for the dogs if any of you lovely lot would like to buy some? There are various ones on our Amazon wishlist for you to choose from. Many thanks in advance!!

We are looking for a permanent foster home for Billy. He came in with his brother Jimmy, but we have decided to split them as they can be reactive around other dogs when they are together. He's an 11 year old cocker, we think he can live with another dog as he's fine around them without his brother winding him up, but he'd be just as happy on his own as long as his human is around most of the time. No young kids as he's untested with them and no cats. He's still pretty active though, you're not just getting a lapdog.
NESSR will cover all his vet and food bills if required but the dog will stay with you on a permanent basis. North east area only so he can be seen by one of our vets. Happy to answer any questions. Please fill in our application form at www.nessr.org putting Billy as the dog you're interested in.
Please say hello to Amber, she is 5 years old and finds herself in rescue through no fault of her own. She has grown up with children so we will accept applications from families with younger kids. She isn't keen on other dogs so will have to be an only one, and whilst she ignores them when she is out she will bark and snap if they get too close. She hasn't lived with cats but has lived with ducks and chickens! She travels well, is quite strong on the leader, housetrained and loves her food. She's a little underweight at the moment but we've changed her food to see whether that helps her gain weight.
She is being fostered in Newcastle and you will be expected to travel to meet her. A donation and homecheck will apply. Whilst we accept applications from all over, it is dependent on us having a volunteer to homecheck you.

We're still looking for the perfect home for Bizzy Izzy ❤️ the applications we have had haven't been quite right for her, nothing wrong with the families, just not quite the right circumstances.
So if you think you can give this beautiful water baby her perfect home please fill in our application form 😁

When you're trying to go through the fostering applications and Duke decides he wants to help! 🤔
Thanks everyone that submitted a fostering application, we're a bit behind on contacting people but we'll be in touch as soon as we get a chance!
Just come across this fantastic idea for a local girl, Skylar who is aiming to put together a prom for those that haven't been able to access a regular prom through school.
We don't regularly promote functions like this, but this is absolutely something that Cynthia would get behind, and hats off to Skylar for putting this together!
Go girl

So we've had a few comments recently about rehoming dogs with kids and why they don't understand why we state a specific age on rehoming posts.
Firstly, we don't have a blanket policy on rehoming dogs with families with children, unlike some rescues, if we can rehome a dog with kids we will.
Secondly, our priority is the safety of our dogs and incredibly importantly your children. If we have a genuine history of a dog that is OK with children, then we will absolutely rehome that dog with a family.
If we say that a dog can only be rehomed with a family with kids older than 10 there is a reason for that. Whether that is they haven't been brought up around children, they are a bull in a china shop, or have been uncomfortable around children in their previous home. We don't just pick a number out of the air and think 'ah that'll do'.
Those of you shouting that we are discriminating or making it difficult to adopt, we are not. We are protecting your family and our dogs from potential situations that noone wants to be in.
What happens if we rehome a dog to you that has not been assessed properly? If we just rehome a dog without considering your circumstances and snaps, or even worse bites a child because it is not used to that kind of environment?
We are not discriminating against families with children, we love to help you where we can, but it absolutely has to be the right dog for your circumstances and we will not be pressurised into helping a family where the dog is not right for that environment.
Thanks for reading :)
We're absolutely crying out for fosterers again! We can't run without them and the phone hasn't stopped ringing for dogs to come in.
If you think you can help please fill in our application form and we'll have a chat with you and answer any questions you may have. Thanks 🙏

So disappointed that this beautiful girl hasn't had one application. Zero, NADA, zilch.
Please don't let her legs put you off applying for this little smasher, she is a typical springer pup in every way, you just need to be mindful of her overdoing it.
Izzy, or Bizzy as her foster mam is calling her deserves a chance and an A* home to call her own.
If you think you could offer this little beauty her forever home please fill in our application form. Thanks 😊

We are looking for a very special home for the beautiful Izzy 💕
Izzy has come into our care after having her two front legs operated on to lengthen the ulnas. This has not hampered her in any way and for the most part is a typical 9 months old pup. However, as this would be classed as a pre-existing condition, most insurers won't cover her legs under a normal policy. We have had her back to the original surgeon that did the work, and he has said she will live as normal a life as possible, but her exercise levels will need to be closely monitored, with more on lead walks than off. We are looking for a home that can tire her out mentally rather than physically. She is good with other dogs, chases cats, is crate trained and her recall is quite good. She is still very bouncy so no kids under 10 and would benefit from a home where someone is about most of the time. She is not yet spayed so no unneutered males in the house. Happy to discuss the ins and outs of her procedure and ongoing care with any serious potential applicants.
If you think you could be the perfect home for Izzy, please fill in our application form on the website. A homecheck and donation fee will apply.

REHOMED
Milo, 2yo Cocker-cross.
We’ve had no interest or enquiries about Milo. Is it because he has bit of a leaky bladder? Or because he can be nervous of other dogs when out and about?
Milo is a lovely dog. He walks well on a halti, enjoys playing with a thrown ball, and chases around with the resident 2yo springer.
He settles quietly in the house and isn’t destructive. He’s not a shadow dog and doesn’t follow his human around but does like company.
Please don’t overlook this gorgeous boy.
He would benefit from some one to one training and is eager to learn.
If you want to know more about Milo please get in touch via www.NESSR.org/application-form
Trying to keep the naughty pups occupied so I can get some revision done! What's your go to Kong fillings? Or what else do you use to keep them entertained for 5 minutes? 😂
Well done and thank you everyone for voting and sharing ❤️ we were selected along with Take away the tears another excellent local charity!

Milo is still looking for his forever home. A two year old cocker-cross, he’s a lovely boy who gets on great with the household dogs.
He walks well on a halti and likes to carry his tennis ball. He also enjoys retrieving a thrown ball but not so keen to give it up to have it thrown again, so have two balls to hand.
Milo is wary of dogs he meets on walks and will watch them as they pass by but is fine as long as you keep moving. If he is expected to sit while they go past he gets tetchy and wants to lunge. This needs work from his new owner to make them the centre of his attention and give him confidence.
Milo has meds and various supplements to help with his leaky bladder, and he has good days and bad days. He is happy to wear his belly band with pads indoors and while travelling.
Please don’t let this put you off, he is such a clever, well behaved and quiet boy he is actually a joy to foster.
Milo is being fostered near Stirling in Scotland and you will be expected to travel to meet him. A homecheck and donation will apply.

REHOMED ❤️
Otto has unexpectedly come back to us through no fault of his own.
He's coming up 9 in June and is currently looking for a nice sofa to curl up on of his own. It was a very sad hand in and his owners were devastated to let him go, so please no negative comments.
His veterinary work has all been completed and just needs a sig off from the vet on Wednesday.
He is currently being fostered in Co Durham and any prospective adopters will be expected to travel to meet him.
He cannot be rehomed with children under 13, this includes resident or visiting children, this will be discussed with any possible candidates. He is not cat tested, and has lived as an only dog, but he has been fine with the other dogs here so can be rehomed solo or with an older companion. I cannot stress enough how lovely a boy he is and will make someone an ideal companion
