Open Studios Notts, I am part of the open studios again this year. I am based at The Retford Arts Hub with my own studio, Studio 7 up in the rafters overlooking the rooftops. A lovely event where artists open their doors to the public. Come and say hi, see what's going on, pick up a brochure for the other venues.

Creativity Unwrapped... What a lovely event to have been part of. There was lots of footfall.... The gallery opening is open to the public till October...

I am in my studio Wednesday this week with Friday and Saturday penciled in as part of Open Studios. With my Inland waterways maps and wildlife drawings.

Creativity in Retford... Every year in September throughout the country public buildings open their doors to welcome people to see their heritage. This year's theme of national Heritage Open Days is "Creativity Unwrapped " and Retford is celebrating with the Town Hall full of local Artists, designers and makers. I am one of them

Dates for your diaries 9th September 2023. Entrance is free... I will be in the town hall all day on the 9th September.

A little bit of sketching yesterday... with my new detail pen. It's a very fine mapping dip pen it's made such a difference to being able to have finer details whilst drawing. This was my first attempt yesterday.

New works have gone into print... Over the last few months I've been working on these... and finally they were framed and have gone into print. See photos for more details.

What's been happening... Well I've taken on a new studio; it's a nice space up in the rafter's overlooking the roofs of Retford. I've been there since the 1st October and it's slowly coming together.

There is a local event to Nottinghamshire which I am currently getting ready for; 'Open Studios' which takes place across the county... I have been going through my artworks and getting together a bit of a display area; together with seeing what needed to go into print. I've managed to do a little drawing and sketching. I'll put that in a new post.

Born in the fifties... What a great life we had the privilege to live. Three weeks ago my hubby passed away he was born 1954... On the 2nd of May.. over the last three weeks I have been reliving it. He was a scooter boy progressing onto motorbikes.. loved camping hillwalking we met when I was twenty and he was twenty three... He was full of life and enthusiasm for adventure... He was never ill ever... Then in March this year he became ill and passed away with lung cancer. He had been retired just over a year I was blessed meeting him and to share our lives together. Live love and laugh because you never know when it's time to part. Dance like no one is watching.. he was like that you see... His funeral is on the 1st June two days after his birthday... A funny guy who never stopped smiling.
