Hi people! As some of you may know, I have a treatment room now in Newcastle Grainger Market. I am based at Soul Rebel Healing, Alley No. 2. All appointments in the Market must booked ahead. I operate there from Mondays to Fridays, 10.15am till 5.30pm, unless I am out on Home Service calls.

I offer a limited Home Service within Newcastle, Wallsend and parts of west Gateshead, the latter being easily accessible from where I live in Denton Burn. Please contact me if you are unsure if I serve your area or not.

My prices are still reasonable. A standard treatment is £40 for an hour. There are discounts available for those in receipt of the State Pension and for block bookings. Please check them out in the PRICE LISTS images below.

MY AFRICAN TRIP!

Hi all, just to let you know that I will soon be embarking on a trip to Africa on behalf of Greenfield! As you can see, I've got my clothes sorted! On 17th November I'm off to visit friends and projects in Ghana, Kenya and Malawi. I will be away for a month. It will be a sort of working holiday because I will be taking Gideon, our Project Manager in Ghana, over to Kenya and Malawi so we can assess a project in each country, with a view to sending international volunteers to them. I am funding this trip from my own pocket.

Greenfield is run entirely by volunteers, there are no salaries, honoraria or other payments made to its directors and trustees from donations or grants. Our funds go directly into investing in disadvantaged communities in Africa, so they can eventually sustain themselves.

It would be great if we could raise some money before we travel so that we can accelerate the progress of the projects we are currently supporting. We would particularly like to get the Teachers Accommodation block finished in the remote village of Iddrisu-Krom in Ghana. The floor still needs laid inside and the outside still needs rendered with cement and then painted (see images below). It will be a great asset to the village school, as it means teachers can stay in the village and not face a long commute on difficult roads every day, so that contact time with the children is not cut short. This will give a massive boost to the education of the children.

HAND OR FOOT REFLEXOLOGY - is one better than the other?

Some reflexologists contend that working the reflexes on the foot is "better" than working them on the hand. While it's true that it's easier to locate a reflex on the foot more accurately than on the hand, due to the foot's larger size, in my experience both are equally effective.

One of my most spectacular successes was through treating a patient via the hands. They had seeping lymphoedema affecting both legs. This is where lymph fluid seeps through the skin because the lymph nodes are blocked causing the legs to swell up. It's an awful condition, with the legs seeping and feeling heavy during the day. At night, in bed, the lymph would stop seeping but would cause excruciating pain as the leg swelled up and stretched the skin, often causing it too burst and bleed. Sorry to be so graphic but this was the reality of the condition. The patient could not lift their legs for a foot reflexology treatment, so I gave them hand reflexology instead. It took 4 treatments to clear the blockage and stop the seeping. The patient noticed their legs felt a little bit lighter after the first treatment, and felt something positive was starting to take place, and therefore continued with the treatment. I am pleased to say that the seeping has never come back for this patient, who was treated over 3 years ago. For them, it was life-changing for the better.

REFLEXOLOGY FOR SCIATICA

Those who suffer from sciatic nerve pain might like to try my foot reflexology treatment. Reflexology is really good for relieving inflammation generally, not just for nerves but also for other conditions like arthritis. Reflexology for sciatic pain can be done on the hands or feet, but I believe the foot is the best because the sciatic nerve runs down the leg into the foot - the nerve is also the reflex, so it is being worked directly.

Instead of posting pictures of baubles, Christmas trees, etc I've decided to post this lovely snow scene of the mountains of Italy taken by my friend Riccardo Giordano on one of his many expeditions. Couldn't tell you where this is exactly, but it's very beautiful!

I hope to be looking at some mountains myself soon, as I will be spending Christmas in Arrochar near Loch Long. I travel up today (23rd) and come back Tuesday (27th). I will have my diary with me so I'm happy to take appointments while I'm away for the Twixmas period between 28th and 31st December and into the New Year.

PRICE CHANGES FROM 1/12/2022

"The more things change..."

Hi all, just to let you some of items in my price lists will change from 1st December i.e. I have reduced the discounts slightly for pensioners and block bookings. Please see images below. Despite this, I believe my reflexology service is still one of the most competitive in Tyneside.

However, the price for a standard reflexology (or Indian head massage / reflexology combo) treatment will stay the same at £35 for an hour. Also, initial consultations, up to 15 minutes, will remain free.

Please note Indian head massage / reflexology combos are only currently offered as part of my home service because of a lack of space in the treatment room.

If you don't know already, reflexology is more than just a relaxing foot massage! It's a healing, balancing, detoxifying and anti-inflammatory therapy that has few side effects, if any. That's because it works in harmony with body, not against it, unlike some modern pharmaceutical medications

On the south side of the Tyne, this includes the limits of Blaydon, Whickham, Lobley Hill, Low Fell, Wardley and Pelaw.

For home visits outside that boundary, prices are negotiable.
