**BILLY ANNOUNCEMENT**

Dear fellow bootleggers,

Here's a little update about Billy's in Newcastle. So here goes, as some of you may or may not be aware I recently stepped down from the helm and passed the dive bar baton on to some new owners. This was possibly the hardest decision that I've ever had to make and not one that was taken lightly and one that was made with a very heavy heart.
I left behind an incredible team and a loyal following and I'll be forever grateful to you all for helping to make my little dive bar such a fun place to be involved in. I'd also like to say a huge thank you to the thousands of artists, musicians and DJ's that have performed and played for us over the years. You have all helped to make Billy's the special little place it is.

Despite lengthy negotiations with the buyers for me to grant them permission to continue on as Billy Bootleggers and to keep the brand going as it has been for years it seems that they have decided on a name change and a rebrand. This isn't necessarily a decision that I understand but it's one that is theirs to make all the same and I wish them luck.

This isn't the last you have seen of Billy Bootleggers in Newcastle I am sure, and let's face it, I can't leave you all apple pie moonshineless for too long can I.
