Beautiful infrared sauna session today at Newry Massage Therapy.

Was just what the doctor ordered. Helped me let go of tension and emotions that were causing pain in my body.

There is such a powerful connection between our mental, emotional and physical health. Trauma and suppressed emotions stored in the body wreak havoc with our health and wellbeing until we learn ways to process and release them.

Mondays for me are about cleaning and getting organised for the week - ordering groceries etc, making sure everything runs smoothly for the rest of the week and we are well stocked up.

Week 5 of ‘Mind your Mind’ 6 week meditation course last night in Newry Massage and Wellness Centre.

The topic was ‘The 4 Primary Brainwave States’.

We learned some theory and then we experienced the power of the drum to bring us into altered states of consciousness.

I will be running this course again later this year - probably around September/October. Stay tuned for more details 🌿✨

A beautiful little night time relaxation: Slow flow yoga, Shakti mat, magnesium foot rub (by local company Freedom Cosmetics) and some red light therapy.

I always wear my blue blockers after the sun goes down to protect my circadian rhythm 🕶️🌖

The shakti mat helps to promote deep relaxation (it really works), red light improves melatonin production (the sleepy hormone) and magnesium also helps to improve sleep, among many other benefits.

Perfect with an afternoon cuppa or as a dessert and totally delicious. Packed full of whole foods. Ingredients:

Celtic sea salt

My husband and I have a little Saturday routine where we go for a walk on the beach and then pick up some fresh local fish and veg to cook when we get home.

There’s nothing like fresh, local ingredients, simple wholesome meals and rituals to keep us healthy and grounded 🐟🥕🌊🌿

🌿 Tropic skincare and make-up. I wouldn’t dare use anything else! I love the feel and scent of the products. All natural ingredients and many are certified organic. Made with natural plant extracts. Plus re-usable and recyclable packaging - what more could you want? (Find the link to my online Tropic shop below ⬇️)

🌿 Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner- 99% natural origin, 98% biodegradable, recyclable packaging, free from parabens and silicones. I like to buy the big bottles as they last longer (can sometimes find in TK Maxx). I also use their soaps and hand wash.

🌿 Kitsch hair rollers - trying to minimise heat damage to my hair these days. Often I just let it air dry with a natural wave but these are a great way to achieve some nice volume and a sleeker look. Highly recommend as an alternative to heat styling 👌

🌿 Lumineux teeth whitening strips - I have never bleached my teeth as I’m just not a fan. Also don’t want to cause damage to my enamel. These are a great non-toxic way to brighten your smile without creating damage or sensitivity. Ok, you don’t get the bleached white look but you definitely get a few shades lighter.

🌿 Glaize Nails - as seen on Dragon’s Den (apparently!!) - A decent alternative to nail varnish (full of toxic chemicals) and gel nails (totally destroy your nails, not to mention the potential harmful effects of all that UV light). I won’t lie - these don’t look as good as gel nails or even stick on plastic nails but they cause zero damage, are non-toxic and kinder to the environment. Worth a try! Although mostly I just keep my nails natural.

Anyway, hope you have benefited from these suggestions and recommendations. The beauty industry really is toxic and we need to be much more aware of what we are putting in our bodies and on our skin.

Week 3 of ‘Mind Your Mind’ - 6 week meditation course.
The theme was - Our Relationship with the Present Moment.
Are we present in our lives from moment to moment or are we overly focused on the past/future?
Are we in acceptance or resistance to what is?
Acceptance brings peace, resistance brings suffering.
We continued with breath work, relaxing the body and stilling the mind, gradually increasing the length of our meditations week by week.
A lovely group, beautiful venue. Feeling blessed
