Bluebell Love
I hand print my fabric designs and love to sew them into colourful goodies. Hello! Imperfectly perfect! Who says nature has to stick to the usual palette right?
Iβm Liz, pleased to meet you! π I hand print my own fabric designs and lovingly sew them into small gifts and goodies (lavender bags, wheat hand warmers, purses, bookmarks, baskets and embroidery squares to be coloured in with thread) all from my little garden studio on Dartmoor. I love playing with screen printing, block printing and even a bit of freehand painting to bring my designs to life on
We're back! π We've spent a wonderful week on the beautiful Isle of Mull π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ Lots of walking, wonderful wildlife, and beautiful scenery π What a beautiful special place!
Just a few of my many many highlights:
π We visited other beautiful islands while we were there (Ulva, Iona, Lunga, Staffa and Erraid). I've never been on so many ferry's and boats in such a short space of time π
π Finally saw puffins! Sooo cute! That's been on my wishlist for many years, and I can't believe I could get so close to them π and with Razorbills too!
π Nearly got frost bite paddling on Iona π We were lucky to have sunshine for the majority of the time.... but the wind! π₯Ά freezing! π I don't think I've ever had to keep my waterproofs and warm gear on for the entire week before, just for the wind π.... but I just can't resist a paddle on a beautiful beach π
π The geology was incredible! If you didnt know, my degrees are geology based, and mull is a geology heaven πͺ¨ We visited the fossil tree, and fingals cave was just fascinating π
π aaand I did a little bit of stitching πͺ‘ I always like to start a new little project on my holidays as a little momento, but I didn't get much done this time πͺ‘ I was too tired most evenings from all our exploring π I'll finish this one at some point though, it's turning out really cute πͺ‘
But back to it now π I would like to say I'm feeling refreshed and raring to go..... but honestly, I feel like I need a week to recover ππ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ
β¨οΈ We're taking a little break π I'm switching off for 10 days (ish) and recharging my batteries π
My shop is staying open but I won't be back in the studio until 10th June to make, wrap and send your lovely goodies π
I hope you all have a great couple of weeks π see ya when I'm baaack! π
Oh, and it took quite a few attempts to get this pic π€ and several face licks π I'll pop some outtakes in my stories for you π
It's been a busy week of making embroidery kits ππͺ‘ The Spring Woodland kits are already in my shop πΈ......Buuut......

Don't worry though, I'll be adding them to my shop soon after the festival π
I'm getting there with this little Robin πͺ‘π Just a bit of his head to finish stitching, and then I'll just have his little face and legs to embroider π
I'm so pleased with how the Basket weave stitch has turned out π It's been so fun using it this way, and I'm just loving how many different patterns you can make with that stitch π
β¨οΈNEW GOODIES β¨οΈ The new refreshed Seagull and Lighthouse lavender bags, wheat hand warmers aaand embroidery squares are now in my shop π
And in case you missed it, the Spring Woodland embroidery kits are live too πͺ‘π

Feeling blue π€ The gulls are next in line for a refresh! I've got the screens ready for test printing and have been mixing some lovely new blue colour swatches ready for printing this week ππ
Did you hear the news? β¨οΈFull kits of this one are coming at 12pm on 29th April π Eeee! My other two patterns will be coming in kit form too..... but later on the year (sorry!) π
Kits will include:
πͺ‘ A pre printed fabric panel
πͺ‘ A 5" hoop to stitch in
πͺ‘ A 4" hoop to display your beautiful work in
πͺ‘ All the threads you need
πͺ‘ Embroidery needles
πͺ‘ A booklet with step by step instructions, embroidery guides and stitch guides π
I'll show you what they look like next week π ....... when (hopefully) I'll have all of the threads beautifully organised and ready on bobbins for you π
This ones had quite the transformation, hasn't he? π I'll be sewing them into lavender bags soon, ready for adding to my little shop π.......... but I can't say exactly when yet...... because someone else might be joining in the fresh fun too ππ
β¨οΈFull kits are coming! π They'll be available on Monday 29th April π
They'll include all the threads, hoops, needles, pre printed fabric aaand full step by step instructions ππͺ‘
Eugh, I've made a boo boo with this one π Basically, I'm struggling to line my waves with the lighthouse....... I have a plan though π and I'll use the gulls from this screen, so all is not lost π .....not the best start to the week though π
Oh hello new screens! My lighthouses are having a little refresh π.....watch this space ππ
I've made a start stitching one of my Wren embroidery squares πͺ‘π I've made some nice progress this weekend whilst watching films in the evenings π I hope you've been having a lovely Easter weekend too! Have you been doing any stitching?
I've been thinking I might try a different way of displaying this one π Usually I display them in a hoop.......we'll see ππͺ‘π€
Hoppy Easter everyone! π
Psst....did you hear? I added this pattern to my shop on friday ππΈ Could be ideal for some 'me time' and relax a bit this bank holiday weekend, right? I have included the list of threads in the pattern, but you could always switch them out with threads you have in your existing stash ππͺ‘
I've started to print my wildflowers today π I'll be adding a pretty purple layer of Primroses, Silenes, Buttercups and Bluebells to these Cow Parsley and Foxglove prints tomorrow π
I feel like I'm starting to get back on top of my lavender bag printing now π
I want to print my mice this week..... and then...... I may have a look at tweaking the last couple of existing designs π but that's quite a big may π
Eeee! I've finished the stitching πΈπͺ‘ It's a spring haven! π I just need to finish it off by popping it in its smaller hoop, and then I can start writing the pattern for you π What do you think? Are you wanting to give this one a go? ππͺ‘πΈ
β¨οΈ Easter is just less than 3 weeks away β¨οΈ I'm going to be printing more of my rabbits this week...... but they'll be in the original colourway rather than this very pretty limited edition version π
p.s These very cute lavender bags are available in my shop, and it just so happens they make really lovely gifts for easter π nice and postable too ππ°
We have bluebells and blossoms! ππΈ Pretty, right? π I'll be stitching the blossom on the 2 outside shrubs next πͺ‘ Its a fair few French knots π
but I'm not being fussy about them .... just packing them in and embracing the uneven blossoms ππͺ‘
How do you feel about French knots? Love em? or avoid at all costs? π€πͺ‘
Happy World Book Day! ππͺ± What are you reading at the mo?
Me (and my Bert πͺ±) have delved back into the magical world of Harry Potter πβ¨οΈ Its been a loooong time since I first read them and have seen the films 100 times since then.....its interesting revisiting the books after getting to know the films so well π
I'm about half way through the first one π I still have a few unread gems on my bookshelf though, so I might break the series up with some of them πππͺ±
Oh, it has just been sooo lovely working in the sunshine the last couple of days π Doesn't it make the world of difference? Especially with my little jar of daffs πΌ
We added about 100 more daff bulbs into the garden last autumn π
They seem to have popped up a bit early this year π€ but I'm all up for an early spring π
Have you got any exciting spring activities happening in your garden? πΈβοΈ
πΌ
Ooo it's coming along so nicely! π ..... even if I do say so myself π
I'm gonna be stitching the bluebells into the grass this weekend, then I'll be onto the pink and white blossom πͺ‘πΈ
I can't wait to see it finished and next to the Autumn woodland hoop π they're gonna look so good together! ππͺ‘
I added all of the cute little beaks and eyes onto my Long Tailed t**s yesterday π It feels so good to be slowly building a little stock of each print π I think this is really gonna make a difference... ..I won't have the pressure of printing to order and I'll be able to get your goodies on their way to you a bit quicker π
But gosh! I've never printed so much and my body is not too happy about it π I'm gonna take it easy for the rest of the week on the printing, let my body recharge, so I can can be carry on printing next week π
A little spring woodland stitching update..... πͺ‘ I'm hoping to stitch the last 2 tree trunks and the path this weekend, but I think it's starting to look soo pretty π
I'm kinda wanting to go back in and add some more stitches to the sky (just to blend the 2 blues in a bit more). But I'm trying to resist until the end. I know that once the blossom and the daffodils are there, I won't be focusing on it so much ππͺ‘πΈ
Look at his little pom pom tail! ππͺ‘ I don't think I've shown you this one for a while, and seeing as I was printing some more of these embroidery squares today and Easter is around the corner..... here he is! π
This one really was soo fun to stitch π It's so tempting to stitch it again, but with a different colour pallette...... just to see how different it could look ππͺ‘ but I have other ones I want to do first π
Oh btw, the blog post I wrote of exactly how I stitched this one is on my website π but remember...... there are no rules with this πͺ‘
It's not my usual cup of tea...... Printing in grey is so so dull π€ͺπ€ Buuuttt, I print my embroidery squares like this so I don't influence your thread colours ππ
I can get through all the greyness, knowing that they will be super pretty once they've been coloured in by you π₯°πͺ‘
A reading date with Bert and nice toasty hand warmers sounds like bliss, doesn't it? ππͺ±π
This was such a lovely order to wrap up this afternoon π₯° Thank you so much! π₯Ή
π
A bit of sunny progress to show you πͺ‘
I've made a start stitching my 'spring woodland' π This is actually 'take 2' .... we won't talk too much about take 1, but let's just say the sky was starting to look green π€ it's veeeeery early days, but this one's going so much better π
I'll keep working on it in the evenings, and hopefully, it'll be one to add to my little collection of pdf patterns π
β¨οΈ Matchy matchy *Chefs kiss* π€ This lavender bag and hand warmer were sewn up this morning...... don't they look so cute together? π¦
π
β¨οΈ NEW goodies! β¨οΈ These fresh new lavender bags, wheat hand warmers and embroidery panels are in my little shop π
The links for them all are in these pictures - or you can find them with the links in my stories π
I started giving this print a little makeover back in October (I think!), and I'm just so excited that it's the very first cheerful addition to 2024! π¦ It's really had quite the makeover! But since the hedgehogs were one of the earliest designs I created, it's about time, don't you think?
