Listening to your children and validating their emotions is such a powerful way to support their emotional well-being. When we truly listen to them, we show them they are valued and understood, building trust and confidence.

Turn to page 52 and you will find me! This has to have been one of the hardest things I have done and sharing some of this but as I always try to share with the children (and parents) I work with....we can't grow and learn if we don't do things that make us feel uncomfortable and take us out of our comfort zone and challenge us!

Caroline Strawson shared in our franchise group earlier today about how important it is that we share our 'why' and I think this interview covers this and I hope that it comes across to everyone.

Today I received my certificate for Somatic Trauma Informed Coaching, this is a course which I have been working on in the background (I don't always share as like other people I can worry about judgement....this is something I have been working on more throughout this course and where this belief comes from)

I love learning how I can help the children and young people I work with. I was reflecting today how I first became a 'corporate' parent at 21 when I got my first job in a children's home......I definitely wasn't prepared for what it was going to be like and the impact of the trauma that these children had experienced. Some of which I could never comprehend what it must have been like for them. This was the start of my journey in trying to look at how we are able to support children and young people.

I wouldn't have got through my first few years of working in residential if it wasn't for the support, co-regulation and patience from my manager who saw something in me and I will forever be grateful to her. I now see that I was working through my own trauma and definitely not regulated at times. One day I may share a letter to my younger self and the advice I would have given her!

Thank you for this amazing course and her team for their support. I am also proud to be a brand partner of , I am going to be doing a parents workshop during the summer holidays in North Tyneside (in person) about how to support your child's mental health and well-being....I am so excited!
