The T-bone steak: part Sirloin, part Fillet, all flavour. We dry-age these beauties in-house, letting time bring out that deep, rich flavour and tenderness you can only get from a proper dry-aging process. Then we hand-cut each steak, making sure every one is just right.

🌊🦪 This weekend’s specials are all about Mersea Island oysters! Harvested from the waters off the east coast of Essex, these beauties are famous for their clean, briny flavour with just a hint of sweetness.
We’ve got them three ways:
Natural – simple, fresh, and perfect
Bone marrow hollandaise & pan gratata – rich, savory, and a little bit fancy.
Tempura battered with sour tomato ponzu – crispy, tangy, and downright delicious.
Get them while you can… once they’re gone, they’re gone!
History of Our Building
Our building has a rich history, dating back to its origins as a farm. Originally a bungalow, built in around 1880 when plans were submitted to convert it into a farm at a cost of £2,500. The vintage photo shows the farmer and his wife, capturing a piece of the past when the property was thriving as an agricultural hub.
Berrywood Farm, located within the grounds of what became known as St Crispin’s Hospital, was originally part of a larger self-sufficient complex designed for the Northamptonshire County Asylum. The asylum, established between 1873 and 1876, aimed to provide care for the mentally ill, and the farm was an integral part of this. It was designed to be a “model farm,” helping to support the asylum’s operations by producing food and providing therapeutic work for the patients. Plans for the farm buildings were approved in 1875, and a cottage for the farm bailiff was added in 1880  
The surrounding shops and boutiques you see today were once pig barns, where outpatients from Berrywood Asylum would work during the day, contributing to the daily operations of the farm. We believe the photo of the farmer standing proudly with his cow was taken on the right-hand side of the building, a testament to its agricultural roots.
While much has changed over the years, the building still carries the charm of its storied past, blending history with the modern vibe of the community today.
