Happy New Year to you all I hope you have a fantastic 2024. As the new year is a time for resolutions, I’ll start with my normal I should post more on here!
Hopefully I’ll get chance to share more sketches and photos throughout the year. I’m never sure if something is ready or good enough to post, then time moves on and I’m doing something else, so this year I’ll post without overthinking, possibly, maybe, aargh 😂

A walk home along the Weaver, not 5 o’ clock and the sun is disappearing.

Bosley locks from a series of sketches I did along the Macc, they’re available as prints but I’m also thinking of printing them at postcard size? What do you think? Is a postcard size option better for places that are tight for space like your boat? Or is A4 ok? Thanks 🙂

Ho! Ho! Ho! Too soon?
I’ve just finished another Christmas card and will be uploading it to my Etsy shop later today, just in time for Christmas 🎄 😂

Wandering around Beeston Iron and Stone locks, scouting locations for a painting, but also a great excuse to visit the wonderful Lockside Cafe for some of their fantastic cakes. Looks like I’ll have to make a few more visits to help me decide on my painting and try some more of their cakes too, can’t wait.

Out and sketching again at Hall Green Stop Lock, at the end of the Hall Green Branch of the Trent and Mersey where it meets the Macclesfield Canal. Not the biggest lock on the system with a rise or fall of about a foot.

Hello Mrs Bee. Thankfully after all the rain it’s nice to get out and about and see the bee’s are still here and working hard.

It’s still monsoon season outside, so I’m still swanning around 🤣

Working on limited edition prints of “Through Stoke” by Laurence Riley. It’s a style that really captivated me. I’m not sure where and even when this painting is from. If you know I’d be really pleased to hear, it will settle our argument 😂

Out early with the sketchbook Lion Saltworks, looking for some new ideas on this local icon.

Inspired by a recent photograph by Andrew and his recent vlog I wanted to create a sense of new beginnings, dawn the start of the new day where you feel the air warming, birds start to sing.

Time for some heron practice 🙂 I need a heron for a design so I thought I’d better practice first. Maybe I can call this one “heron at night” 😂What do you think?
