A fellow Artist created this. Hilarious 😅😅xx. Credit to Jurga Ryan Art. 🤣
This gorgeous girl drawn from the drawing academy I joined. I’ve been meaning to draw her for a while but haven’t got round to it.
Drawn on film and using polychromos , luminance, Derwent drawing and Pablo pencils. It’s been interesting to do the academy and the resources available are fantastic. I’ve also realised I can’t follow a tutorial if my life depended on it. I just zoom on and do my own thing. 😵💫😵💫I’ve tried and tried. But i do have the benefit of, if I’m unsure, I can always find a piece I need and try and concentrate and watch for a short while at least. Suppose I’m a little long on the tooth so to speak. 🤷🏼♀️😅xx

A little late in the evening but I think I’ve finished this. I’ll look again in the morning with fresh eyes. Don’t think I want to see a stripe ever again. Well for a good week or so at least.
Based on a tutorial from Bonny Snowdon Academy.

Drawn on film using polychromos, Luminance and Pablo pencils, and a whole lot of patience and strained eyes. 😅xx
What’s on the board. This is making my eyes go wonky. Still loads to do on it but I think it’s looking rather lovely. Have a good bank holiday everybody xx
So to carry on the shine theme something a little different from me, but who doesn’t love a big cat? Whether you’re team dog or team cat you’ve got to love these big guys.
Big thanks to Steve Prior for the excellent photo ref
Film with faber castell polychromos and a touch of Caran dache luminance pencils.
Oh how I’ve loved doing this, but the hours that’s gone into it 😵💫😵💫😵💫. A price will be hard to judge. It’s on 9” x 12” and I wish I’d done it so much bigger. She’s dancing off the page. I think this may well be my new absolute favorite. 😍😍😍😍. She’s drawn on film and based on a tutorial from the Bonny Snowdon Academy. Photo credit goes to Karen Broemmelsick Photography & Art

There's a famous story of Pablo Picasso.
He was enjoying a meal at a restaurant when a man interrupted him, handed him a napkin and asked:
“Could you sketch something for me? I’ll pay. Name your price.”
Picasso took the napkin, pulled a charcoal pencil from his pocket and started sketching. Using only a few strokes, he drew a goat that was unmistakably a Picasso. He held it up for the man to see.
The man smiled and reached to take the sketch. But Picasso withheld it.
“That will be $100,000.” Picasso said.
The man was astonished. “$100,000?! You drew that in 30 seconds!”
Picasso crumpled up the napkin and stuffed it in his pocket.
“You're wrong.” he said.
“It's taken me 40 years to do that.”
Know your worth.
New work on the board. I’ve not touched the coloured pencils for a good few weeks. I’ve not had the concentration for it, plus very achy shoulders and hands. Oh the joys of getting older. 🙄😵💫.
This is from a drawing academy I signed upto a while back so thought I best make use of it. It’s very very slow going. It’ll look lovely when it’s finished. Hopefully!! 😅. I started it weeks ago before the aching kicked in, I got as far as top half of the face. Believe it or not it’s taken almost 10 hours to get to this stage and it’s only on 9” x 12” film. I’ve Still the neck and body to go. Not massive by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s very time consuming. Fabulous reference photo, but so much shine and change of colour to contend with on this one.

Update. I think I’ve finished now. I wasn’t quite happy before. I’d still like to get more detail in on that stump but not doable with the charcoal. Maybe something to go back to with the coloured pencils or pastels. But I do really like this. 🥰🥰.

I don’t know if this is finished. It looks fab from a short distance but close up on the photo can I improve it. I think that’s my brain thinking how it would look in coloured pencils or paints even. Smoother and more detail. Picture from a distance in comments.

Work in progress. It all looks very messy at the moment. And it is! My hands are black. 😅. But I’m hoping it going to turn out the way I want it 🤞🏻

It’s been a while since I’ve drawn in just charcoal and graphite pencils (years!). The humble pencil or biro was what started me off always doodling as a child. Whatever was in front of me always got doodled on if there was space. 😅. My granddaughter is just like I was. Budding artist in the making. 😍😍. So this is just a quick doodle. Nothing too detailed with this , but think I’ll be trying more of these.

I’ve finished him. It took longer than I thought. Waiting for some pencil colours to arrive since 8.40 am. They turn up at 4.40 pm. Annoying, Much😵💫. But I finished once they got here. X

I keep meaning to put this on here. Better late than never. Details can be found on there for commissions, also other Artists. Xx
I feel I’ve done all I can on this. I have to admit. I’ve absolutely loved it, even fighting a stinking cold and banging headache. I didnt think it would take me long, but it certainly has. Easily the same amount of time as coloured pencils. It’s been a nice welcome back to the pastels. Now I’m going to sit and decide which pencils I need to replenish, and which ones a I need 💸💸😵💫😅xx

Well that’s it for today. Babysitting duties now required for two cheeky princesses. 👸🏼👸🏼. Beau is coming along nicely I think. Hopefully will have her finished tomorrow. Wish I’d done it on white pastelmat now, but to be fair I don’t think she looks bad with her background.

I generally draw in coloured pencil these days but I’m wondering why I ever decided to change. A few days of feeling 🤧 has driven me to the pastels as for me personally it’s a little less taxing on the brain. I love the easy flow paint like approach to pastel painting. It’s so soft and delicate.
Dilemma is do I progress with pastel. Go back to coloured pencil. Or when it comes to commissions do I offer both? Such amazing results go with both mediums. 😵💫 xx

If only I’d started the dog more central to the paper I could have made quite a nice picture from this😅. Results of getting carried away on a doodle. Do I carry on and finish it or start a fresh one? X🤣
ABSOLUTELY NO NFT REQUESTS. Please don’t waste my time.
Finished this little guy. Got to love a scruffy dog. 🥰🥰xx

Work in progress. … A total practice piece on a piece of scrappy pastelmat I had hanging around. I’ve had the worst headache today and the worse drop in confidence ever, i was almost throwing the towel in and I felt hopeless and just couldn’t do it anymore. It was a bit weird and overwhelming I have to say. I just couldn’t concentrate on the detail with the coloured pencils. Before coloured pencil, my love was paints and also pastel pencils. Oh how I’ve missed the way it paints on to the surface. I’ll definitely be doing more pastels I think. A little gorgeous parsons terrier (edited from Patterdale , I am definitely not with it today)in progress. Oh how I’d love this little chap in my house/garden. 🥰😍. Still a way to go but getting there.
