Important Group A Strep Bacteria Information

We have become aware of reports being made that there are throat swab tests available via pharmacies to test for Group A Strep bacteria.

We are sorry to inform you that this information is incorrect and that up to present pharmacies have received no guidance or information that this is to be happening.

We are aware of the increasing spread of Group A Strep bacteria (particularly amongst school aged children) and will provide information and advice on how to manage symptoms and what to look for on this page in due course.

We urge all of our customers to only visit the NHS website for official guidance and medical information and to call the NHS Out Of Hours service on 111 in cases of increasing concern

We are offering a free blood pressure service to the following people:-

- 40 years and over who have not been diagnosed by the doctor
with high blood pressure
- at the request of your Doctors surgery
- patients who are under 40 years who are at risk of high blood
pressure due to family, medication or have had a high blood
pressure readings in the past

Northwich Vaccination Centre will be offering seasonal covid vaccines starting Mon 12th til Sat 17th Sept at Hartford Methodist Church.
Eligibility criteria applies:-
* Frontline health & social care workers
* People aged 75 years and over.

You can book using the National Booking System or CALL 119.

We are also offering the seasonal flu vaccines (stock permitting) which is a walk in clinic only. Limited availability only.
