Our leaders are building communities. Communities where mothers are mothered. For new mums, there’s always someone with a spare pair of hands to hold baby (if you wish!), a listening ear and a cuppa. Someone to tell you what an amazing job you’re doing - you made it out the house, hoorah!
Communities where all women are welcome, with and without little ones - because the singing is for us! And we know it’s not just new mums that can feel lonely and seek connection.
Communities where varied life experiences are valued. These are multigenerational groups; we welcome new mothers, mums with school-aged children, grandmothers, pregnant women, women without children of their own. The presence of women of all different life stages is one of our groups’ biggest assets.
Help us spread the message far and wide; share this with your network of friends and maybe it will reach someone who needs a bit of this in their life.

Meet the Singing Mamas leaders!
Who: Jen Baker
Where: Walthamstow, East London
🧡 I love sharing songs that…
Sound lovely sung with one voice (around the house, to my children, anywhere!) and sound even better sung together, layered up with some beautiful harmonies.
🧡 The best thing about my group is…
Feeling totally uplifted after singing together. Seeing the babies relax and soak in the harmonies. Chatting and enjoying some cake together!
🧡 I joined Singing Mamas because…
Singing has had such a positive impact on my mental health and wellbeing, especially after having my children. I want singing to be available to everyone.
🧡 Outside of Singing Mamas I…
Can be found swimming outdoors, volunteering as a breastfeeding peer supporter or pottering around with my two small children.
If you're local to Jen you can drop her an email at '[email protected]' to book a session.

Sing for Happiness Project in Bristol - does singing regularly improve well-being?
Yes yes yes! It does! 🧡
Lovely project -read about it here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/cd118vlj79do
Singing and long-term happiness… I think the two are definitely linked! It’s so interesting to see all the research going on relating to singing and well-being… I love knowing the “how” and the “why”… it’s fascinating stuff - but my body already “knows” all this in a wordless way, just from how it feels to sing! It’s glorious! And it’s just wonderful singing with all of you xx
Bristol research project on singing and long-term happiness Researchers and 400 volunteers are experimenting to see if singing can improve people's wellbeing.

Meet the Singing Mamas leaders!
Who: Lindsey Joy
Where: Stocksfield & Hexham, Northumberland and Newcastle, Tyne and Wear
🧡 I love sharing songs that…
Make the women smile with pride when they realise what an amazing sound they just made, and babe knows it too.
🧡 The best thing about my group is…
That everyone gets along so well, and that newbies are welcomed with open arms. I love it when I get up to make the tea during the break and a buzz of conversation fills the room.
🧡 I joined Singing Mamas because…
I love singing, obvs, and that I'm a big believer in 'fill your own cup mama so that others may drink', and that is what Singing Mamas is all about.
🧡 Outside of Singing Mamas I am…
Mammy to two little people, Bodhi age 5 and River age 2. I work as a birth educator & hypnobirthing specialist. I make the most of my spare time volunteering at my local community allotment, and then coming up with yummy recipes that include the produce. I also get out for big long walks when I can.

Heya lovely people..
Singing together … is an ancient way of being!
We’re not reinventing the wheel, we are simply remembering it 🙂
Check out this gorgeous pic of a half-term meet up in the Ashdown Forest of 3 different Singing Mamas groups.

Singing under the blue sky, with the sun in our faces, what a treat for us after so many rainy months in the UK.
Wishing you all lots of glorious connections through singing.

Who: Clara Westmorland
Where: Biggleswade, Bedfordshire
🧡 I love sharing songs that...
Make us feel. Whether it's releasing some pent up frustration, inducing some cathartic tears, giving us the giggles, or making our hearts sing with joy, all emotions are so welcome.
🧡 The best thing about my group is...
The women, of course. They are amazing! Kind, generous, funny, thoughtful, wise. They're such brilliant company. The little ones are pretty wonderful too! Their radiant smiles when they hear us harmonise fill my heart every time.
🧡 I joined Singing Mamas because...
My mental health suffered after having my second baby during lockdown. Fortunately, my friend Emma already ran Singing Mamas in nearby Hertfordshire, so I know how much of a positive difference it makes when you’re struggling.
🧡 Outside of Singing Mamas I am...
A fundraising professional and I have raised millions of pounds for arts charities. I am mum to two wonderfully exhausting little boys. I also have the world’s largest cat!

GMOTFW Perinatal Mental Health Support Group
Up to 1 in 5 perinatal women experience depression and anxiety, and a huge percentage will downplay the severity of their symptoms.
Singing can help. When we sing we release endorphins and it reduces the production of stress hormones. Singing is proven to improve mood, reduce anxiety, and increase the bond between mother and baby.
At a Singing Mamas group you will learn lovely lullabies and songs to share with your little one in a relaxed and friendly environment. You don’t need any musical experience to join us.
Do you know someone who might benefit from joining our group? Please encourage them to get in touch with any questions, or to sign up!
Huge thanks to for supporting this project 🙏

Who: Meg Fitter
Where: East Grinsted, West Sussex
🧡 I love sharing songs that
Light me up. When something lights me up I enjoy sharing it more and it’s more enjoyable to learn. Once a song has touched me I am desperate to teach it to my group, with the hope it will offer medicine to another. Any feeling can be lifted, shifted or shared with a song.
🧡 The best thing about my group is
The wonderful atmosphere and welcoming nature of our group makes it so much fun to sing together. And singing together makes it much more easy to connect! It is a place to create friendships and be part of something.
🧡 I joined Singing Mamas because
I wanted to sing in a group and I wanted to meet people in my community. Once I joined I got SO much more than I bargained for! It healed a childhood wound around singing in public, just by being part of the group - massive bonus!
🧡 Outside of Singing Mamas I am
Outdoors exploring the world with my family and friends - camping, walking and playing as often as we can! In addition to my weekly Singing Mamas group, I run a monthly social sing with a shared picnic on a Saturday.
If you're local to Meg you can contact her via Singing Mamas with Meg - Lingfield + East Grinstead to book a session.

🧡 EVEN More brand new SINGING MAMAS leaders ! 🧡
HUGE welcome to these bright and beautiful beings -
We are COMMITTED to scaling our network with thousands of leaders who will bring Singing Mamas to every new and expecting mama in EVERY local authority!
These awesome humans gave it some, this weekend.. they showed up in the most incredible way to support each others journey of becoming a qualified leader with us.
We laughed, we cried, we learned SOOOOO much.. (I learn more with every cohort)
Now they set to work to build their own businesses, a business of pure purpose and wholehearted joy in the world.
We train firstly for the life changing benefits to ourselves, then secondly, we grow our communities to bring these extraordinary benefits of singing to the women and mamas who need it.
I will take great pleasure in witnessing the unfolding journeys of these song sharers. From whichever point on the path they begin.. super shy and new -or mega experienced and confident, our network of leaders has hands at all their backs as they grow and develop their skills.
We are a tightly connected moment of women who work to serve mamas and families with the power of voice work.. and we start with our own.
It’s win-win and just keeps on getting better.
Abundant joy be all yours, incredible new leaders!
Love Kate x

🧡 I love sharing songs that
Feel good in the moment. I try and feel into what I think we all need in that moment, whether it's deep connection or some energy and joy.
